We could use better default controls, like Pitch, Yaw, Roll applied by default to the stick/rudder pedals. Overall tho I think DCS handles controls better than literally any other game I've ever played. When I first realized just how customizable the settings were I was floored.

I'm currently researching instruments e.g. Compass and ADF and horizon for night flying. The ka-50 is not easy to fly at night especially with night vision goggles blurring critical instruments. Any recommendations for supported instruments that work out the box?

To be fair, the Warthog was my primary for the past few years and the throttle remains in service indefinitely. But I replaced the stick. I didn't need the VKB MCG Pro, but it has turned out to be fantastic so far. It can provide all of the functions of the Warthog and more. The analog brake lever is useful for Russian aircraft and the Spitfire. The flip-up safety/trigger is also useful for many aircraft. The feel is so much better than the Warthog: no stiction and no odd "clunks" crossing the center, which really allows amazing precision and a very light touch.

If you have the money and are patient enough to wait for the next production batch, this may be the best stick on the market.

Still chugging on this one, but hey it has actual dual throttle:

Win10 x64

Due to Saitek and Madcatz past relationship, this one has quite many versions of names, various combinations of the following:

Cyborg X

Cyborg F.L.Y.5

Saitek

MadCatz

Yes, both of the namings are stamped on the device it self, some online stores list it as F.L.Y.5 and others as Cyborg X.

This one was bought before when Saitek operated independently or wasn't even acquired by MadCatz.

But Saitek then got sold to Logitech, as Logitech G, but many legacy stuff isn't represented there - I got the drivers off the saitek.com site and I don't remember which one, I think F.L.Y.5 because they actually distinguish between Cyborg X and F.L.Y.5 in the drivers page for some reason, I forgot whether that's a mistake or normal.

Still, the drivers are stamped with MadCatz namings the one I used.

I usually have to set dual throttles, and other stuff I'll actually forgot a bit, I'm still doing heavy maintenance and troubleshooting with my SSD/SataPorts failures and all the stuff, I'm reinstalling DCS release version in a week or so if all things go well, I'll go into the control settings and take a look if some defaults are off, may depend on the aircraft, I know there's some inconsistencies maybe but I'm not sure right now.
