Hi WildBill,
The R-77 and R-33 are the only Russian ARH missiles modeled in DCS to my knowledge. The MiG-29S and Su-34 can carry the R-77, the MiG-31 carries the R-33.

The R-27R/ERs carried by the Su-27/33 and MiG-29A/G, as well as the older ordnance carried by other Russian fighters in DCS, require guidance until they reach their target.

hey feefifofum,
So not only do we have to guide the weapon to its target but also we have a blind spot on our rear hemisphere where we cant tell if its 100°-260° threatwise. Also, our 27ER is shorter in range and can not go pitbull.
Sounds like my kinda ride. But thanks I guess we have good news?

It just cant be more difficult.

Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.

Plus you'll only see a clear threat classification for the closest target!
The Beryoza definitely leaves a lot to be desired...

WRT range, though, the R-27ER does have slightly longer legs than the AIM-120, provided the target doesn't maneuver defensively.

By legs you mean Rtr to Rmax window?

The R-33 is a SARH missile, not a ARH missile!

Yes, I meant RPI is slightly farther for the R-27ER than the AIM-120C in most conditions, all other factors being equal. Can't say I've compared RTR.

D'oh on the R-33.
