Oil rig view distance too short.

Hi !

 

New oil/gas rig that came with last update are visible at a too short distance. They pop up in front of your face.

It would be nice to see it as far as static oil tanker ships in PG map.

I was doing some flying toward the oil rigs I also can confirm LOD pop up

I tested the "Sea Shelf Objects", "Oil Rig" model, and the maximum view distance seems to be about 10km. Beyond that it vanishes completely, despite being large enough to be quite visible at the 10km mark. In contrast, objects like the permanent static oil tankers floating around on the map have a visible range of around 60km. Oil rigs and other large static objects should have a similar visibility.

It is the same for other things in the sim. Lights, objects..ect. DCS cannot draw objects far distances.

 

More like no one at ED pays any attention. Some ground units disappear at certain distance while others don't. Explosions, fireballs, contrails, etc, they become visible at certain fov.

It's all a mess.
