The DCS Updater / Launcher GUI Utility Version 2.0 (2023+)

Can't remember if I've mentioned this before, but the app doesn't always retain the last used preset on a restart.

Clean function?

When I click to clean, do I have to specifically click on the files for it to do anything? It lists all my installed liveries so I have been clicking keep. What files should I be cleaning?

@SkateZilla - Any chance you can fix the bug where the launcher is outside the active area of my desktop (i.e. outside the area that my monitor displays). It is the most annoying thing about this app. Other than that its freaking awesome.

Right Click App System try Icon and Choose Restore Window.

It's not a bug w/ the App but a Bug with Windows Corrdinates for Desktop being reset when a Display Device is removed from the system (during Windows Updates if they include a display driver, or during a display driver update).

I cannot control that, all I can do right now is provide a way for it to reset back onto the screen.

is there any way to run a preset wiuth a different export.lua?

SkateZilla I have a couple of requests for future updates if you don’t mind.

1) list the mods from ovgme that show up in dcs’ s installed module so you can select or configure them as active or inactive just like the other modules.

2). Ways to setup all the 3rd party apps like VoiceAttack, tacview, srs, Gametrix seat cushion, etc

This include to run different export.lua

i cannot garauntee Export.lua switching.

I can also rule out linking w/ other 3rd Party Applications.

What I’m talking about on 3rd party is like what you done with oculus, TeamSpeak, srs iirc etc but able to add individual choices to run list

Make sure the Drive and Path are Correct.

Yeah I am icking it with the utility, clicking on it.. its weird. I know.

just to note:

Changing a Folder Path in the utility does not tell the DCS Install itself to use that Path, only the utility.

Little Update,

Next version, as previously said, will include some extra files, so it will no longer be a single EXE (has supporting Libraries now). The First Basic use it the Parsing to know what Branch each build is configured to use. I'm going to expand the Parsing to include other aspects of both the core DCS Install and Config Files. Both Reading and Writing to those files.

Also, Adding some "Custom Applications" to the External Programs Section, and Moving some items around the Settings Tab to make room.

In the Future, there will be further Tabs Added, as the Aircraft and Campaign Tabs are quickly filling up.

(will Likely split the Aircraft into, Modern, WWII, Rotary, etc) Same for the Campaigns

System Tray Menu (and code), will likely be condensed, removing the Modules, install/un-install modules section from the system tray menu, leaving the basic update, launch, functions and information. Also will add the Dedicated Server Mode Function to the System tray Icon.

I took the saved preset off, it was causing issues when the preset was no longer present.

however in my builds if I close app w/ Preset 2 selected, it opens w/ Preset 2 Selected.

Thanks Skate. It does do it ok sometimes, but not always. Depends on what preset was being used, and also depends on whether Windows was restarted, not just the app.

Help with updater. I currently have dcs stable build setup how do you add a beta build within the Updater or must you install the beta then set it up in the Updater?

The Utility is designed to manage installs, not create them.

you can copy paste the release branch and convert it to Open Beta quicker than installing from zero.
