Recommended Posts

I do not know if this problem is of the map or the mod. Can you check it Mustang? Thanks for this great mod.

I will share my OvGME package that I use to install and uninstall this mod. The mod brakes Integrity check and by that denies you access a lot of servers. By using OvGME or some other mod install/uninstall app you can remove the mod in a couple of seconds and play on the server that also checks for pristine files in IC.

Download 1.0 version of the OvGME package here and place directly in OvGME mod folder.

Thanks dude!

Using VR

Just got around to loading this (I don't like messin with my config too much). My be in my head but I feel a better sense of speed down low in Nevada. I like that. Not sure I see a huge visual 'oooh, aahh" here but, again, the sense of speed seems higher. Again, this is in VR (Odyssey +), i6700k, 1080GTX (8gb)

Many thanks,

Thanks Mustang!

That makes quite an improvement, also on the Caucasus,

and no impact on the FPS.

Remains a mistery why ED does not implement such a simple modification themselves....

Sadly no... All ED’s 125 programmers are too busy to replace a few texture files and lines in the config file.

125 programmers ??

I thought 6, 7...

I really thought, there are 6, 7 employees

Why take it so long to fix all the F18, F16C issues , new clouds, new map, etc?

125 employees =/= 125 programmers. Unique skill jobs are not common in Russia. They've got only one sound guy and I'm sure the number of guys doing the actual deep coding in C++ isn't all that big.

Anyway, back to the topic - when I used this mod for the Nevada, it didn't affect average framerate, but it did increase low level stuttering pretty bad. I guess that's the reason why it hasn't been implemented officially and I'm glad for that.

  • ED Team

Hey all, I asked ED to look at the adjustments made in the terrainoptions41.lua to see if atleast those could be used in some way, they will need to go through testing internally though to see how it performs on low-end machines, so we will see.

Please forward the message to the team that many of us have thoroughly tested this for the past two years. But I get it that you guys aren't taking any chances..
