Norwegian Spitfire IX

Wing Commander Rolf Arne Berg special paint scheme. RAF was not happy with it, but accepted it.

Video from an airshow this summer.

Added radio comments from first arrival in Norway 1945 is a nice touch.

Enjoy!

Edit:

Want to add that an old colleague (dead now) mechanic told me that the Norwegian Squadron was deployed to France early summer 1944-

- That they had to abandon the airstrip due to misfired V1 rockets heading for London. They usually crashed in this area

Here's an other one from Sola Airshow:

I had the pleasure of getting up close and personal with this aircraft at Kjeller a few weeks ago. An awesome aircraft that looks great both on the ground and in the air.

Unfortunately, the Spit is now back home at Goodwood, wearing its old paint scheme. And a small correction: the original RAB was indeed painted like this during the war, but only for a few days. The flag strips on the wings, spinner and rudder were removed. The RAB initials on the fuselage were kept.
