Looking for a casual group for DCS and War Thunder SB??

475th Fighter Group "Satan's Angels" formed late in the last century and has flown together for over two decades in a variety of titles. We started in box games then moved to MMOG's in their heyday in the 1990's and early 00's.

We are, at the moment, a fairly small group.

The 475FG is an historic fighter group that served in the Pacific theater in WWII flying P-38's. There are active USAF units that trace their lineage to the Satan's Angels.

Most of our members love the P-38 or at least tolerate the P-38 passion of the leadership of the group. This love of the P-38 led us to fly in War Thunder Simulator Battles. We fly daily in War Thunder at various times of the day

I am looking to expand the 475FG presence into DCS multiplayer.

We aren't interested in accurately simulating every detail of real world flying. We concentrate on the fight, not switch flipping and talking to ATC. Of course, if you want to learn those things, we will be happy to help but our PRIMARY focus is teamwork driven operations.

Our requirements are pretty simple. Be willing to learn and to help others learn. Every failure is an opportunity to improve but you must accept that you are responsible for each failure in order to learn from it.

We use Teamspeak primarily. This is a requirement.

We have developed our own tactical vocabulary based upon modern brevity code tailored to virtual flying.

We will certainly teach it to you but it is largely the same of the official version.

All experience levels are welcome. Brand new virtual pilot or grizzled DCS veteran, you will all find a home. We welcome the opportunity to learn from the experience you may already possess.

VR is not a requirement but our operations are tailored towards VR. Yes, that means labels on aircraft.

We have a dedicated server available 24/7 generally with an expanding mission set.

What we aren't.

We aren't milsim. We don't even require any sort of formal "membership".

There are no attendance requirements.

We will help you learn and hold training events but none of it is mandatory.

We are not checklist driven. Client slots on our server will always have a hot start unless there is a reason not to.

We are not interested in BVR missile fest. Scenarios feature real world ROE restrictions and limited ordnance stockpiles. In the same vein, precision guided munitions also will be limited during our "events". During weekly practice or pickup flying there will be no limitations on weapons.

What we are

Our focus is teamwork and fun. To that end we do all of our PvP in War Thunder Simulator battles, primarily in the P-38.

DCS is our change of pace from the frenetic WT SB pace and as such we hold weekly training/practice DCS flying and a monthly "event" aimed at a more realistic scenario based flying experience.

We welcome all DCS modules. Instead of concentrating on a few airframes, I would prefer to have a group with a little of everything as it makes scenarios more interesting.

Currently, the F/A18 is the most used module simply because it is the most versatile platform but we will accommodate any module.

We offer some very experienced and talented Basic Fighter Maneuvers (BFM), Element Tactics, and Flight Tactics instructors with extensive virtual and real world flying experience.

We are US Central Time zone based but do not restrict based upon location.

What we want

Mature adults interested in flying as part of a team focused on fun.

Teamspeak is required.

Responding to an intro email is required.

PM me if interested.
