Mirage F.1 mod released.

I'm proud to present the work of many months, many people involved and many hours poured into it.

The Dassault Mirage F1 is a French fighter and attack aircraft designed and manufactured by Dassault Aviation. It was developed as a successor to the popular Mirage III family.

 

During the 1960s, Dassault commenced development of what would become the Mirage F1 as a private venture, alongside the larger Mirage F2. Work on the F1 eventually took precedence over the more costly F2, which was cancelled during the late 1960s. The French Air Force (Armée de l'Air) took interest in the fledgling fighter to meet its requirement for an all-weather interceptor aircraft. Accordingly, initial production units were equipped with the Thomson-CSF Cyrano IV monopulse radar. During the latter half of 1974, the Mirage F1 entered service in the French Air Force. Shortly thereafter, the type was deployed as the main interceptor of the French Air Force, a capacity which it continued to serve in until the arrival of the Mirage 2000. It later transitioned to an aerial reconnaissance role. During June 2014, the last French Mirage F1s was retired from service.

 

Powered by a single SNECMA Atar 9K-50 turbojet engine, which provided about 7 tonnes-force (69 kN; 15,000 lbf) of thrust, and armed with an array of French and American-sourced armaments, the Mirage F1 has been operated as a light multipurpose fighter and has been exported to around a dozen nations. The type has seen action in a large number of armed conflicts involving several of its operators, including the Western Sahara War, the Paquisha War, the Cenepa War, the Iran–Iraq War, the Gulf War, the South African Border War, the War in Afghanistan, the Chadian–Libyan conflict, the 2011 military intervention in Libya, and the Northern Mali conflict. More than 720 Mirage F1s were constructed between 1966 and 1992.

 

The mod in DCS:

 

The Armée de l'Air team, released a Mirage F.1 long ago for LOMAC, now we reworked it up to DCS 2.5 standards and added several features including guided A-G weapons for the CT variant and a AI for those who only want as a AI contender.

A question. Do the AS-30L and the GBU work? The F1 CT has the ecartometre laser pod loaded but how do I activate the pod and lase a target?

 

 

Partial answer: LGB and AS-30L work. I managed to drop one bomb and fire one missile because when I had target lock suddenly the laser became active. But since I have no idea what I did right that time I can't reproduce it. If anyone has some pointers please help I'm really missing something...

Thanks a lot for this beautiful Mod, it seems to work well on my DCS openbeta, but I get this error on the Log:

and there is no avionics.edc, avionics.zip or avionics folder at that path ... is there a file missing on your distribution download?

There are several variants.

1. delete the entry "imount_vfs_texture_path (current_mod_path .." / Textures / Avionics ")" in the entry.lua of the MirageF1CT

2. just create a folder "avionics" in the texture folder or

3. copy the folder "avionics" from the Alpajet

Do you have the Alpajet not create a folder "avionics" and copy the two attached files

 

Ok, I didnt had the alphajet mod, but searching for it found this:

Regarding the F-1, the two files that you gaved me seem to work, as the error I was getting on the Log isnt present anymore :)

 

However, I made a short mission to learn the differences between the three variants of the F-1, it seems to work fine .. the F-1 seem to be using the cockpit of the MiG-29, like this:

However, now I'm getting livery errors on the dcs.log, like this:

The F1 version also logs similar errors ... they dont seem to affect the in-game performance, but I'm kind of anal and worry about the origin of these errors. What do you think?

Hi again, just wanted to tell you that this Mod installed just fine and seems to be really nice, tough I havent actually flown it more than a few minutes. The exterior is nicely done, tough most of the liveries are more geared for aerobatic teams :)

Do you have the same problem on the CT variant?

 

I only see the skin of the spanish (not sapanish :music_whistling: ) air force on the CT variant, and yes, the textures of the airbrakes and the ones of the spoilerons are missing. I have downloaded the file twice.

I tried to use the weapons of the CT variant, but didn't find out how to fire them. Can someone give me a small tutorial ?

 

I only noticed that when you drop a GBU the laser goes on. But it is hard to guide the GBU because you overfly the target. After a while the laser goes off again. When the laser is on you can also launch a missile. I have no idea how to manually operate the laser.
