For me, too.

 

Multiple attempts and multiple failures. My annoyance meter is beginning to peg.

 

EDIT: I have removed and reinstalled the updater. I have checked that my password is correct (though the fact that I should need it amazes me since I have a key for the product). It still fails repeatedly. Please remove the hoops from this download.

a little teaser on the ED discord 'dcs-wwii-chat channel indicates that the Normandy map will receive an update to expand and include London and Paris

Or perhaps, they will completely overlap in space but  not in time.  ED has indicated a desire to see the Battle of Britain in the future.   Maybe the Channel Map will evolve to cover the time period

So basically the entire area of the channel map will be covered by the expanded normandy map, rendering the channel map even more pointless than it already was before. Or am I missing something here?

that being said, I assume it would be the ED Login info that you use on digitalcombatsimulator.com

Got it working but had to enter the password multiple times and instructions, if thought to be necessary, should have accompanied the dl link.

So which aircraft are not supposed to be installed? I get errors "Unknown Module..." from both the Mirage and the Mig-21. After that I unchecked pretty much everything not made by ED and it started installing.

 

EDIT: Btw, this installation contains the same bug where the system hangs when trying to close the torrent necessitating the use of the Task Manager to kill DCS processes and restart the application.

funny thing is why is it copying things from another installed DCS World 2.0 Alpha build?

 

Because most of the v2 files are the same as the ones needed by this installation.

It locked up after making some changes to Options. Made the changes, clicked OK and then it went non-responsive when I clicked on the Options button again.

 

It also takes nearly a full minute to start/restart.

I don't think 3rd party aircraft were included for this early access build, try the props, ED / BST modules.

Well, after finally getting everything installed. Firing up all of the ancillary programs (Target, TIR, etc.), creating a mission (Btw, there is a bug in the ME where the airfield symbols disappear after you zoom in just a little bit but long before you can actually see the airfields), and taking a spin in the Huey, I have a first impression that I can sum up fairly succinctly.

 

 

 

Oh damn, this is pretty #$%%^%$ awesome!!!!! :D

 

EDIT: Yes, I decided that the garden was too damp to work in today. :P

 

EDIT2: Btw, the trees will hurt your aircraft, at least the Huey anyway. :thumbup:

Ok,, installation went smoothly with no hitches. Installed my Spitfire and set the main controls. I'm VR only at the moment so this is my Rift experience. Set graphics to the default VR settings + 1.4 PD and went for a free flight. After dodging the lurking bomber I trimmed out and checked the view. What a lot of trees! The evening sun cast long shadows and there was mist in the valleys. Very atmospheric. I checked frame rates and was getting between 30 and 45. Didn't seem choppy in the headset tho'. Looks promising from my brief first look.

Separate for now for the $140+ backers but this will likely change to be an update for the existing alpha. ED will let us know when they are ready.

I'm now down to 1 key every time I start the map it ask for a key.

 

Im off to work now so wont be able to respond for 12 hours.

 

I was only asked for a key twice. Once during the install and once the first time I ran it. I have started the sim at least five times since then with no request for a key.
