Mars Exulte
I started flying with these guys a while back and it's been fun. They seem to be a good balance between "relaxed" and "serious". They have several "squadrons" of various aircraft each concentrated on a particular role, CAP, CAS, etc. Well, at present there's only only ONE aircraft capable of SEAD (anti-SAM) missions... The Su-25T. Unfortunately, I've found there is a huge shortage of people apparently willing to fly it, or who have bothered to ever even try it. I mean, 90% of new recruits are flying something like a Mirage or Viggen or whatever. Anyway, I'm the current one and only dedicated Su-25T SEAD pilot on the NA side and need some wingmen! That's *YOU* ;) Don't let the fact the 25T is free and comes with the game dissuade you from giving it a try. While it doesn't have a clicky-cockpit, it's a very highly detailed aircraft with a nice balance of "complexity" vs "accessibility". It also has access to an extremely wide variety of weapon loadouts that allow it to fulfill nearly any (ground oriented) combat role. Precision standoff weapons with the Kh-25L (a Russian Maverick analog) or Kh-29L/T (similar... but with twice the warhead) and the Vikhr (a Russian Hellfire equivalent) Long range anti-radar weaponry like the Kh-25MPU and Kh-58U TV-guided bombs, runway penetrators, heavy laser guided rockets Speaking of rockets, it has a HUGE arsenal of just dumbfire rockets of calibers ranging from 80-350mm, high explosive, fragmentation, anti-armor, you name it. Drop tanks for extended range, jammer pods to fend off radar guided weapons, belly mounted infra-red pods or emissions sensors, the Shkval TV targeting system. CCIP and CCRP bombing modes, laser guided gun pods (yes, you can tie those gunpods into your laser system and they will automatically adjust, similar to the A-10s various gun modes), combat autopilot modes that help keep you on target for bombing and gun runs And much more! All this on a free plane! A lot of the $60 modules don't have as much "to do" or "to learn" as this free one does! Come fly one today! Don't make me post a picture of a hot girl in a frog suit. ADDENDUM TAW also accepts other airframes, particularly F-15s, A-10s, Su-27s, Mirage 2000s, Viggens, Ka-50s, and Hueys, most of which have their own sub units. Most anybody is welcome, though there is not currently a WWII or Korea squadron event. Hawks, L-39s, and Gazelles are being integrated in the near future in roles appropriate for their capabilities, i.e. photo reconnaisance and light strikers. VZ_342
Subscribed to this thread...learning the 25 and the 25T, right now barely able to use the cannon, and the 1900 CST (1700 my time) may pose a challenge, but... I'm keeping my eyes on this! :pilotfly:
Mars Exulte
Well, swing by. I am still working on finesse, but I know most/all the systems. I can answer questions, or you can come fly with us. A clan I used to run ages ago (non-DCS) I trained a lot of our guys that had never played flight sims before. We can start with the "any" key and move up from there if necessary :P -edit Like an idiot, I specified the time, but not the day. Corrected. Windsortheater
Does TAW have pub server nights?
Mars Exulte
They have some public servers up and running, specifically the Kaukaus Offensive (or however they spell it) on 1.5 and there is a NTTR training server I believe is open to the public. It was being finalised last I heard, uncertain if it's done just now or not, but I believe it is not passworded. We have smaller training events for each squadron or sub unit during the week for members and new recruits, and the main operation on Sunday, which involves all sub units, but they are members only for reasons of organisation. Questlove
Count me in, fellow Texan. I just started playing and I'm working on the 25T so this sounds great! I can play any day, 24/7.

shawnpatrick5000
I'm on the A10 side of TAW-NA. Great group to fly with and highly recommend.. willing to help to make you a more effective pilot. I got sick of freelancing multiplayer servers with the teamkills and no coordination to take out targets. Come check us out. Steeltiger. No intention to highjack your thread my TAW squadron mate! Mars Exulte
Good afternoon, all! I just wanted to clear up a misconception that I keep running into. #1 We run combined ops. These aren't deathmatch moshpits. We have fighters providing escort, Su-25s attacking SAMs, and A-10s and attack helos conducting CAS, transport helos dropping off infantry squads. No one aircraft is more of less 'useful' than the others, they're all together, and each filling a different role. #2 Just because the 25T is free and non-clicky doesn't mean it's a PoS. It has a detailed FM, detailed weapon systems, and a very wide arsenal. #3 It is not 'worse' than an A-10 or other aircraft. It does not have a giant cannon, and it doesn't have as much ordnance, because it is smaller and 2-3x as fast. It also has capability for two roles the A1-10 does NOT : Standoff precision weapons, and more importantly it is the ONLY SEAD aircraft. Unless you plan on crawling over a pile of burning aircraft, if you want to kill radar guided SAMs, this is the plane you want. Do not think that just cause it's free it is inferior. People saying that crap either never flew it or are idiots. Де вороги, знайдуться козаки їх перемогти. 5800x3d * 3090 * 64gb * Reverb G2
Elo001
particularly F-15s, A-10s, Su-27s, Mirage 2000s, Viggens, Ka-50s, and Hueys I pretty much fly all of those in addition to the 25T Is TAW organized in a way that requires members do specialize in one particular unit, or are people able to switch between aircraft they know how to fly depending on what is required? Oscar Juliet
Yeah I've run into group members of TAW and have had bad experiences with them. I wouldn't join that group or be associated with them. My latest experience being escape from tarkov. Being spammed constantly in IMs for recruitment. It is beyond annoying. Also have run into several toxic members. Being a big community it is going to happen. Sucks for TAW because they put a bad light on them for myself and my buds. SU-25T is a decent aircraft and is overlooked a lot. I fly the A10c but the SU-25T is fun to take out once in a while. My Youtube Channel
Tyrant07
I enjoy flying the frogfoot doing CAS and SEAD. The challenge of doing CAS accurately in it is what keeps me coming back to it. Yes it is alot easier to do the same task in an A-10C and yes you can take out more targets a hell of a lot faster with it... BUT it gives me a certain sense of satisfaction doing it with the SU-25T. Well, the ops are organised, multi role fly outs, so mission design kind of depends on known quantities of various aircraft being present. We have plane specific squadrons, and each person is assigned to one of their choosing on a non-permanent basis. In other words, you can move back and forth internally, but for the primary op you'll be expected to fly whatever your current 'primary' is because the mission was designed on that assumption. A-10 is too slow for my tastes, I like being able to dash to near Mach 1 in a pinch =) Edited May 31, 2017 by zhukov032186 Де вороги, знайдуться козаки їх перемогти. 5800x3d * 3090 * 64gb * Reverb G2
StarfuryTH
I'm getting into DCS and learning the Su-25T from top to bottom, and this interests me. I'd love to be able to fly with a group and learn how to really utilize all of the plane's capabilities. That Sunday time slot (5pm Pacific time) is killer, though. I have a family, and that flight slot encompasses dinner time on a non-work day.
TaxmanTom
I have been flying with the European TAW DCS guys for some months now and it has been a blast. Great people, good fun/serious balance and sunday events where anywhere between 30 and 50 people fly together. I'd love to have some more Su-25T guys flying with us! We sure could use 'em :)
StarfuryTH
I might be able to manage that time on occasion. Should be clear on the 13th. Don't know if I could guarantee attendance every week though. It's either 1100 or 1700 on Sunday for me, neither of which are terribly convenient times for a family guy. I'm still learning how to make proper strikes against targets. SEAD is fairly simple, but CAS is tough. I'm having a hell of a time finding tactical targets without pausing and checking range on the F10 map, and dropping dumb bombs accurately on anything smaller than a large building in the middle of a field is still beyond me Edited August 3, 2017 by StarfuryTH
Maverick_
Looks awesome but the 5pm PST makes it tough for me too. Sunday nights are usually spent with the wife. Specs: 1tb HDD AMD FX-6300 16gb DDR3 Nvidia GTX-1070 Oculus CV1
StarfuryTH
Is it possible to "sit in" on the European Mission this Sunday? I don't think I can dedicate enough time every week to signing on as a full member, but it would be nice to get in some real flight time with a group. I'm fairly comfortable with SEAD, deep strike, and CAS roles at this point.
