I know this will be added down the road but even a option to add the exhaust smoke system would be nice. Like I said not the biggest request but us demo team pilots would love it.

Like when you right click you see Remove Payload and Remove Pylon maybe on that center tank add a option for Add Exhaust Smoke System and Remove Exhaust smoke system.

Outside of Smoke Winders,

A Smoke System itself would not need a pylon, and could be set in the Properties tab on the mission editor.

I'm curious how do the jets create the exhaust smoke? i understand the smoke winders but where does the exhaust smoke come from?

Oil line drops the oil in the exhaust.

He was posing it as a possible way to have a smoke system and not that it existed today.

That's not surprising. For stores configuration manuals they usually just assume a M151 warhead (or neglect to specify warhead type at all) because the ballistics and weights are almost identical between the warheads that have planned deliveries.

If the aircraft can load a LAU-61 or LAU-68, it should be assumed that it can load the full range of M151 HE Frag, M156 White Phosphorous, Mk 67 Mod 1 Red Phosphorous, and WTU-1 practice warheads.

M257 Illumination and M278 IR Illumination warheads sometimes don't appear in the older delivery manuals at all because their deliveries aren't planned with charts like the other rockets are, but again, you can put whatever warhead you want on a Mk66 motor and call it a day.

I've seen Hornets deliver white phosphorous for sure.

IIRC, the M61 cannon and ammo drum are removed and replaced with an oil tank that is piped out to the 12 o clock position of the left exhaust nozzle. As far as the activation, I would assume its similar to the Thunderbirds, who use the dogfight switch on the throttle of the F-16, to activate it.

Without having a clue as to how things work in the computer world, I would imagine all of this would be a little simpler.

The Blue Angels type smoke is more then enough I believe for anyone here at this time. They can add smokewinders down the road.

Blue Angels use a Oil Line to the Left Exhaust.

That's what I stated. As far as how the Blues activate it, I'm not sure. I know the TBirds use the "Dogfight" button on the throttle to activate the smoke on their vipers. I'd personally like to know how the Blues activate their smoke, if it's using one of the HOTAS buttons on the throttle.
