Cyborg71
I read/heard that you put in a bit of throttle then take the same(ish) amount off. That takes you forward. A bit off then a bit on takes you back. Juggle those and you hold position. Simplistic I know, but multiple small on/off pulses (with a small pause to assess the effect) offer finer control. You can see this anytime you see one of those in cockpit vids where formation is flown. The pilots throttle never stops moving. That said AAR is definitely easier in VR for me. Cheers & best of luck. CBStu
I have yet to actually make a connection in AAR. But I am getting better at carrier traps and I think equipment had a lot to do w/ that. I use a $99 VKB Sim Gladiator stick and it is a very precise well made controller. I gave up using the throttle on the stick though. I even doubled it's length to no avail. I finally spent the $ for a TM Warthog throttle and it is just wonderful. The precision of making tiny throttle corrections is what allows staying on the ICLS lines to the carrier. W/ these controllers and TrackIR I am sure it is me that is the problem w/ AAR.
