Tasmanian
A lot of texture/text glitches occur when used video memory approaches card maximum (monitored by MSI afterburner) I can understand the decrease in performance, but glitches should not occur anyway. Other games (Arma2 for example) tend to unload unused textures in such situations. Maybe it is possible to implement a solution in DCS as well? Using: DCS world 1.2 Win XP 32bit Nvidia GTX260 896Mb Driver 301.42 (currently most recent) /3GB option is set pre-render in video card options set to application controlled (no "0" option) HDR, AA disabled. Decreasing texture quality of course helps but hope a solution will be developed.
Nate--IRL--
I've never encountered this and I've not seen it reported before. - what do the glitches look like? A few screenshots maybe. Note that DCS really really prefers a 64bit Windows - may or may not be a factor, Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
Tasmanian
Introducing screenshot: it is starting with this http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/1719/newbitmap2.png and finally it may turn into this http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/7784/newbitmap4.png happens in both fullscreen or windowed mode. after alt-tabing fullscreen the application reloads textures and everything returns to normal but not for long. PeterP
clearly a "out of memory" thing. - I made a lot of tests in win XP32 , i get it too sometimes... -whatever- I have no problems in win7 64bit at the highest settings.
Tasmanian
Is there a way to use high cockpit textures with other medium& Because cockpit on medium is crappy, others are acceptable.
PeterP
yes - but your bug you got looks like you should use no-cockpit at all. So you are warned! Open the Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\MissionEditor\data\scripts/optionsData.lua with a proper editor (Notepad++) and exchange all onlyArch64 = true entries to onlyArch64 = false happy editing ! :)

Oddly enough this is actually something that I've personally taken an interest in previously and should appear in the next patch. Cockpit texture will remain on High regardless of what the Texture setting is. The best way to fix your problem is to install the 64Bit ver of Win7. It better manages memory, takes full advantage of memory above 32Bits capability. You are running out of Memory due to your OSs limited mem handling.
