hobbytechgear06
Hi All This is my post in DCS Forum but I've been using DCS since its early days of Lock On Era so you could tell how old Iam. Around 3-4 Years ago I start doing lots of VR since then around 2 years ago I buiild my first VR cockpit. I've made a video of the cockpit However my neverending wishes for better cockpit just starting even stronger. After seeing many other beautiful build including many people here in the forum, it's inspired me to embark to one of more challenging build. I've never done it before just my experience in 3D printing, plastic modeling, and 3D modeling using Google Sketchup and my electronic and computer background, experience from the 1st cockpit or Mk.1 give me a courage to start. Its exactly 12 months ago, I started the build including research, planning and finally around June 2019 I start the build. So here Iam finishing the build. Despite of the pandemic and increasing work challenges (I'm still a career worker btw). The Work from home part might boost a bit on the final leg of the build as Im able to be home after office hour instantly while before pandemic I spent 2 hours just 1 way trip back home. Btw this build mostly for VR experience though it can be used as advanced button box. So there are lots of missing display, lights, analog indicators, etc. So mostly inputs to the DCS. The lightings are mostly for my cosmetic purposes, I love beautiful things too. So I could enjoy by looking at it and flicking the switches :):) Next I might want to put an LCD display at least for MFD and AMPCD it's on the way, but still unsure if I want to revise the current one yet. So here are several video on my build, pictures, detail specs will follow, plan to have a blog but don't have the time to do it anyway. I do realize it's far from good, as Ive seen others build it almost to perfection including this is not 1:1 accurate cockpit replica as Ive adjusted several measurement myself to suit my overall spaces . Those are still my inspiration. Probably for F-16C one? :):) My far from perfect test flight in wearing navy full flight gear The build video in 4 parts video Part 1: Part 2: Part 3: Part 4 Some Pictures And me with Cosplay suit Navy Pilot Edited May 28, 2020 by hobbytechgear06
