Any update plans of WWII Assets?

Paratroopers is definitely by far the hidden gem in that post because of what it means tothe rest of DCS World. WW2 assets dont have helicopters or scripting relevant to do any capturing operations by air and if there are no helis or airborne troops then you cannot have any paratrooping operations for WW2 maps. Which is kindda missing out on a lot of exciting missions, notwithstanding the actual historic drops.

It's pretty much CTLD for WW2.

the torpedoes on the JU-88 are noteworthy also, as well as the searchlights and V-1 :)

How will the searchlight work? Specifically how will it work with AI Flak?

From my understanding searchlight batteries gave two advantages to heavy Flak units:

Firstly illuminating the target and making it visible at all, but secondly and properly also very importantly allowing triangulation of target position (especially altitude) by illuminating it with three light from different, known locations.

Very much looking forward to this new feature!!!

ps: Will the effects still get tweaked? The cone of light looks too bright for clear weather. Might also prove very problematic with Aliasing (hard contrast, straight lines). Better to make it softer in the first place...

The first WW2 wim to properly implement night interceptors (with all the accurate kit -both ground based and in cockpit - and interception aids from, say, 1944) will have access to my bank account.

Has there been some improvement with pathfinding on the Normandy map?

Last time I tried tanks got stuck as soon as they had to drive through a village. I am not sure if this is a map or asset thing.

Not sure really. All AI ground units seem to manage Caucasus pretty well, but the other maps cause them all manner of problems, such as driving into buildings then getting stuck, etc.

Is an old problem too BTW, was reported ages ago already when NTTR was first released. Alas, no word from ED so far.

And it's still wreaking havoc on the NTTR map. Much as I hate to say it, I have pretty much lost faith that much of this will ever get fixed. I've gone from flying DCS 2 or 3 times a week to maybe once a month. I usually get so frustrated with all of the issues that I just give up and get off. My faith in ED is at an all time low. Creating missions is a nightmare because of all of the issues with M.E. Assets pack seems to have been a bad purchase as there is little to nothing to it at this point. And yes I see all of the pretty images of all of the great "stuff to come" in the news letters.

It really sucks that the only time I can comment on this simulator that I use to love so much it to report issues or agree with other's complaints. I use to praise E.D. :cry:

New unites controlable in combined arms

finaly the M4 is controlable by players in combined arms a good number of tanks have turrents aviable. i am still testing. Nice flight to all.

Well, this seems much improved with the latest patch. The AI even avoid trees now when going cross-country.

The goal is still this year, but I don't have anything more specific than this.

That 2019 end-of-year deadline was then missed.

Late in 2019, we hard that Q1 2020 was now the planned delivery date.

Q1 2020 has passed.

We are still waiting for the August 2019 WW2 assets pack update, more than half a year later.

The roadmap says no but earlier posts in this thread suggest yes so I'm a bit confused.

if i understand correctly the Ai assets are getting the X-ray tech for the new damage model? Thats pretty sweet if so:thumbup:

The 88 was shown and highlighted in recent trailers as well as the A-20 (in the virus sale video) so I guess they are coming but it is demoralizing how ED drop news in the newsletter or trailers and then goes dead silent.

Same goes for the damage model. It looked to be really close and then boom, nothing. No ETA, no videos, no screenshots, no nothing.
