How are they comming up with the Latitude and longitude #s here it shows the Lat at 44.7443 but on the map it only goes to 44.59 99. I dont know how to inturpet this. And I am not 100% sure I am tuning the radio right. This is driving me nuts.

You have to convert the xx.yy.zz coordinates to xx,zzzzzz format.

That means the first one is 44 degrees, 59 minutes, 59 seconds, while the other one is 44,7449 degrees. I don't know the exact math, but it's been mentioned around these forums.

beacons[167]["position"]["height"]=220000.0 //altitude ASL ?

beacons[167]["power"]=15000000000.0 //power in watts ?

So is it means if i raise altitude (to 220km) the power upto million gigawatts then i will able to hear that station everywhere (on the DCS map)- like a radio satellite ? :smilewink:

would it be possible for someone to upload a template or something, or just a blank mission even with a radio station in every city or something so we can get radio all over the place?

That way the radio stations would already be in place, people would just have to input their own audio for it. and could just build missions starting by copying the blank mission with all the radio stations everywhere.

Of course someone would have to take the time to do it, and then upload for all the peoples of the world to enjoy.

Dont let the smell get to ya...............

Sometimes I find it takes a while before Radio Maykop or whatever it's called comes on.

Also, I'm sure it's been mentioned before, but the lattitude in the map probably is in degrees minutes and seconds, and that other number is in a regular decimal system. So 30 minutes is 0.5 hours etc f.ex. 0.75 hours will then be 45 minutes. That can explain why your location cannot by found on the map.

I had the same problems when trying to find that radio for the first time. I read these and other forums for days, after reading the whole manual. Of course i was very frustrated, i thought something was broken in my game.

Than i remembered, i turned down the music volume in the options :doh:

  • 2 months later...

I noticed you need both intercom and VHS-2 power for this to work.

You'll notice that the music is still playing under the FM band, only not as loud, which is not correct and takes up PC resources.

WOW this is a old dig up. I found that I used nopad or word to edit the files. witch cruped them. so that is why I culd never get it to work after erinstalling a back up file and using nopad++ I got it all to work just fine. Jack if you change the station it will stop playing. I think it may be the power that the AM is puting out that make it blead thrue to the FM but I cant say for sure. Have to ask a Dev. why.
