DCS on STADIA

It's hard to imagine that you can overcome latency in such a way that it does not give reason to complain.

Seriously, I doubt hovering the Mi-8 will be as crisp and fluent on Stadia vs. a fast 100fps local PC.

It sounds great for many many other game genres but not for DCS or Racing Sim imho.

What a joke, y'all have literally no idea what you're talking about. Stadia's infrastructure is unparalleled, nothing comes close to it. It's exactly the kind of infrastructure you'd need for hardcore simulations. Stadia would let all of DCS world play in a world-scale server with every player playing on the same server.

In most places in the US, Stadia can receive an input, render a frame change, and return it to the user's screen faster than the human eye can even recognize a frame change.

At least y'all could try know what the hell you're talking about before bashing a new platform that can take the most demanding gaming to the next level, or are y'all perfectly comfortable with your aggressive ignorance?

What are you talking about? You haven't played it have you..

A packet of data moves at the same speed, regardless of the data contained within it.

Nearly every ISP has direct-peering links with Google, they don't transit some general internet server, it goes from your house, to your ISP direct link to a google server which is likely within a 1ms or less latency from the Stadia edge data center.

I play stadia regularly, with 4k HDR, with 2 of my kids also on 4k HDR, and 99% of the time, you can't tell that you're not playing on a local machine at all. We have Fios Gigabit internet, and we can pull 3 streams from stadia at 4k resolution and we only actually hit about 35Mbps of traffic, with a latency less than 15ms.

#1 Rule for Porsche drivers and written in the manual and brochure:

SAFETY WARNING: YOU CANNOT CHEAT PHYSICS....neither can Stadia

15ms...that's a LOT in DCS realm, in addition, that's 15ms for each end, back and forth between players we are at 30ms, basic math.

US Servers.... not everyone lives in the US and while you might have a great ISP, other do not.

And on top of that, US broadband connectivity is tantamount to a roll of the dice in terms of speed. Actually, you could probably extend that saying to Canada, as well.

I really wonder how many more of these game-streaming services will come and, inevitably, flop?

Reformers hate him! This one weird trick found by a bush pilot will make gunfighter obsessed old farts angry at your multi-role carrier deck line up!
