FIN_Centurion1
So I had already decided I would hold off upgrading, but I'm having trouble with my 1070 (already RMA'd once) and I think I am out of warranty now. Now I see 2nd hand 1080ti's for roughly 600-650e. It's still a bunch of money, especially since I am probably going to upgrade to 16gb ddr4 3200mhz at the same time. I was just wondering if anyone else has gone from the 1070 to 1080ti and what your performance improvement was like. I have a i5 6600k. The 20 series are crazy expensive here and not worth it for me. Thanks!

Thanks! I would say it is a no brainer. By any comparison, the 1080 Ti will give you 50-70% increase in FPS. In addition, any test I’ve looked at shows the 1080 Ti to be very close to the 2080. An upgrade well worth doing, in my opinion. ddcs.sauce
Yes, without a doubt. I have a Zotac 1080ti Xtreme on my second kid's DCS PC and it runs an old processor and still plays 5K (3 screen) with decent framerate - > 50. Grab on one ebay if you get a chance. A mate of mine sold x 2 a few weeks for low price.

Headwarp
When talking about gpu performance it's helpful to know what resolution you plan to run at..or if in VR. 980Ti and 1070 can still rock 1080P like a baws. David OC
I was even running a 1070 @ 1440 quite well, now with the 1080ti I can max it out + run 1.5 SSAA. (MSAA OFF) The main reason to upgrade was for VR. tintifaxl
I did a 1070 -> 2080 upgrade on Monday and for me it rocks. Set MSAA from 2 to 4 and terrain shadows from flat to on. Rock solid 60fps @1440p, that the 1070 couldn't always do with the lower settings. Windows 10 64bit, Intel i9-9900@5Ghz, 32 Gig RAM, MSI RTX 3080 TI, 2 TB SSD, 43" 2160p@1440p monitor.
