Silkworm fully ineffective vs. Neustrashimyy. Seaskimming over 60 meters altitude?

see trackfile, 4 out of 4 Silkworm get taken out https://ufile.io/g68o45eh

(even at "average" ship-skill, same result)

Important for PvP servers with player-deployable Silkworms is that the Silkworm actually can hit a ship (even if that would mean that only 75% of the Silkworm missiles reach their target.)

Destroyers are some of the most well armed anti-missile platforms in game, as they are in real life. Able to shoot down just about anything.

The only effective missile against destroyers is the RB15 as it skims even lower. Although I have yet to try them out, I believe the harpoon can skim just over water and hit a destroyer.

The Silkworm is really old tech, and 60m is not really skimming. Sea skimming missiles are always below 50m down to 2m over water.

Not a bug.

and it's a bug, because ?
Because ED obviously wouldn't have added Silkworm to the game if it would be totally useless.......

HAHAHAHA!!!! This comment wins Gold!

They added them because they are in use by Iran but are basically worthless against well armed destroyers.

They were primarily used against platforms, tankers, and as Surface to surface harassment against Kuwait during the Iran/iraq war. They are very old technology that would not hit any modern destroyer.

Hate to say it but the silkworm is a gen1 60s era missile. Against modern 80s/90s2000s era ships/ada its pretty useless. I have no idea why it was added aside from that its old and probably lots of data on it exists and its used by iran

What ED should do is provide modern shore based ASMs, or older ships.
