Su-33 for DCS World Now Available

Owners of DCS: Flaming Cliffs 3 and those that pre-purchased the Su-33 can now update DCS World 1.5.7 open beta and receive the updated to the Su-33!

The Su-33 Early Access can also be purchased from our e-Shop

attachment.php?attachmentid=169531&stc=1&d=1506089985

Features of this upcoming Su-33 update include:

  • Professional Flight Model (PFM)
  • More detailed and accurate simulation of the wing control surfaces that include the leading and trailing edge flaps and the differential ailerons. In addition to the conventional differential stabilizers, canard behavior has also been improved for more realistic behavior. The Flight Control System (FCS) will automatically reconfigure itself depending on the flight mode.
  • The adaptations that make the Su-33 aircraft carrier-capable have been updated and improved to include the wing-fold mechanism, reinforced landing gear struts, and the inclusion of high-gain nose wheel steering for use on crowded carrier decks.
  • The physical mechanisms by which the arrestor hook engages the aircraft carrier arrestor wire has been greatly improved. Correct physics have been applied to the arrestor wire and its’ interaction with the aircraft.
  • The engines now have a "special mode" that adds up to 12,800 kg of thrust (instead of the normal 12,500 kg of thrust). This mode also includes realistic operating time restrictions.
  • A new FCS mode used when aerial refueling has also been implemented. When in this mode and the control stick is released, the aircraft will automatically maintain level flight. This FCS mode allows fine-control and thus making it easier to make contact with the tanker within a pitch range of plus or minus 5 degrees and of a roll angle of plus or minus 10 degrees.
  • The Auto-Thrust Control (ATC) is used for automatic speed holding and can be fine-tuned with a set speed switch. This can be useful with landing on the carrier.
  • The automatic collision avoidance system ("Uvod" mode) is now included and allows safe nap-of-the-earth flying.

F-5E-DVD-cover_700x1000px.jpg

The F-5E was developed by Northrop Corporation in early 1970s. The light tactical fighter is an upgraded version based on previous F-5A developments. The F-5s' combat role encompasses air superiority, ground support, and ground attack. Given its mission flexibility, ease of operation, and low cost, the Tiger II has, and continues to serve, air forces across the globe.

The F-5Е is armed with two 20-mm М39-А3 cannons with 280 rounds per each cannon. The cannons are located in the nose section, forward of the cockpit. Special deflectors are used to avoid compressor stall conditions caused by hot gas ingestion as a bi-product of operating the M-39-A3. Each cannon is capable of firing at a rate of 1500 to 1700 rounds per minute.

Each wingtip incorporates a launcher rail capable of firing AIM-9 infrared-guided missiles.

Five hard points (one centerline pylon and four underwing pylons) allow the aircraft to carry different types of air-to-ground weapons (bombs, cluster munitions, and rockets) 6,400 pounds (about 3000 kg) in total. In addition, illumination ammunition and cargo containers can be attached. To increase flight duration and range, external fuel tanks can be attached to three hard points (a centerline pylon and two inboard pylons). Maneuverability and speed can be maximized in combat by jettisoning all external stores.

Key Features of the DCS: F-5E Tiger II:

  • Professional Flight Model that accurately mimics the performance and flight characteristics of this legendary fighter
  • Highly detailed, six-degrees-of-freedom (6 DOF) cockpit
  • Interact with cockpit controls with your mouse
  • Fully modelled weapon system
  • Accurate F-5E model with multiple country markings
  • Detailed modelling of the F-5E instruments, engine, radios, fuel, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Single missions and full set of training missions will be created while in Early Access
  • Full and Quick Start manuals in Russian and English languages
  • Extended Campaign for the F-5E by Maple Flags Missions Developer (not included in the module package)

World War II Ground Forces Update

As part of our efforts to improve and create a more complete World War II experience in DCS World, we continue to add new ground units to the DCS: World War II Assets Pack.

Today, we have Work-In-Progress images of German telemeter KDO Mod. 40 in development.

wol_error.gifThis image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. The original image is sized 1596x931.KDO_Mod.40_3.jpg

More WIP screenshots

The Kommandogerät 40 is an anti-aircraft fire director used principally for major caliber weapons such as the 8.8 cm FlaK 36 and 10.5 cm FlaK 40. The director is basically an analog computer that uses visual observation to solve the firing parameters.

The director computes continuously by using a target speed and angle of approach method, and can handle diving and curving target courses. The time from initial pickup to first round is estimated to be 20 or 30 seconds. When shifting to a new target in the vicinity of the target previously tracked and flying an approximately parallel course, as little as 10 seconds may be required.

I can not wait for this update!

The promise of Normandy is being realized!

"Yeah, and though I work in the valley of Death, I will fear no Evil. For where there is one, there is always three. I preparest my aircraft to receive the Iron that will be delivered in the presence of my enemies. Thy ALCM and JDAM they comfort me. Power was given unto the aircrew to make peace upon the world by way of the sword. And when the call went out, Behold the "Sword of Stealth". And his name was Death. And Hell followed him. For the day of wrath has come and no mercy shall be given."

Pre-purchase Trailer video

UMc3c4JqoyM

The AV-8B project was born in the early 1970's as an effort to address the operational inadequacies of the AV-8A first generation Harrier, aimed to dramatically improve the capabilities and performance of the early AV-8A's. The AV-8B made its maiden flight in November 1981 and entered service with the United States Marine Corps in January 1985. It later evolved into the AV-8B N/A (Night Attack) and AV-8B Harrier II Plus.

First flight of a modified AV-8B in the night attack configuration was on June 26th, 1987. Deliveries to the USMC began in September of 1989 to VMA-214 at Yuma, Arizona. Follow-up units based out of Yuma received their Night Attack AV-8Bs by the end of 1992.The AV-8B N/A variant (originally known as the AV-8D) had its first operational development in 1984 and included use of the NAVFLIR (Navigation Forward-Looking Infrared camera, consisting of a GEC-Marconi FLIR system mounted in the nose) for night operations. Additionally, GEC Cat's Eyes night vision goggles were provided to the pilot as well as a revised cockpit with color MFDs, a wider field-of-view HUD display, a color CRT digital moving map, and a complete "heads-down" operation capability. The AV-8B N/A also sports four Tracor ALE-39 countermeasures dispensers along the top of the rear fuselage, in addition to two ALE-39 dispensers along the lower rear of the fuselage. The AV-8B N/A also fields an updated version of the Rolls-Royce Pegasus 11-61 (F402-RR-408 ) vectored-thrust turbofan engine.

HEATBLUR
is proud to announce the addition of a FREE for all AI J-35 Draken for DCS World!

As part of our commitment to fill our products to the brim with content and value that increases your immersion both in Singleplayer and Multiplayer and give you a variety of options for authentic mission creation, the J-35 Draken will be the first major addition by Heatblur for DCS AJS 37 Viggen!

The art team has been busy with recreating this classic aircraft to the quality you expect of Heatblur. We’ve approached the creation of this project in the same way as we approach the creation of our full fidelity, flyable modules - and have utilized all of our latest techniques in achieving a perfect reproduction of the Draken’s iconic shape and characteristics.

Our draken will include authentic weaponry and will span across various eras and variants of the aircraft. As an AI aircraft, it will be a perfect addition to missions and campaigns, and serve as an immersive escort or authentic opponent for Heatblur and community mission content. Once it is complete, it will be available across all maps and versions of DCS as part of the base DCS World game regardless of whether you own the AJS 37 or not!

The Saab 35 Draken ("Dragon") is a single-engine supersonic fighter from the 2nd generation. Its first maiden flight was way back in October 1955, and it has been operated by countries across Europe - including Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Austria.

For now, the inclusion of the Draken is limited to an AI aircraft; but we have always considered the Draken to be a prime addition to our high fidelity roadmap, and hope to make it a reality at some point!

Thanks for sticking with us!
