Glide
I put a Client flight on my Carrier group so I could practice in the F/A-18, but it doesn't seem to work. First the E-2 kept crashing into me on the ramp as it taxied forward, so I set it to takeoff from runway. There was also an AI F/A-18 set to takeoff from runway as well, and but none of the AI aircraft launched. They sat on the launch pads and never moved. If I don't launch into the Client F/A-18 flight and choose an airfield flight, they launch no problem.

Glide
I see they don't launch even if I am on land, so it's not my being on the carrier that's breaking it.
Glide
This is the next mission in the series. They launch, but they behave quite strangely. They are supposed to fly to waypoint 1 @250kts and 500ft. But they all do a strange curve. Edited September 27, 2020 by glide typo
Glide
I see the AI don't really like to stick to 500 ft on launch. That's just a quick fix on the waypoints to make that more realistic. Mission 2 looks normal.
Glide
This is the version where the E-2 bangs into me. In this one they launch.
Glide
Could be a Stennis issue. This mission has the same E-2 collision, but they launch.
Glide
Okay, getting more strange. In the Gauntlet Mission, set the E-2 to takeoff from runway. The E-2 launches, but the F/A-18 AI's abort.
Glide
Even more strangeness. In the Cherkessk mission, set the E-2 to Fly Over, one F/A-18 launches, the second aborts.
Glide
In the Guantlet mission, set the E-2 to Fly Over, and both F/A-18 AI's launch successfully.
Glide
Even more strangeness. In the Cherkessk mission, set the E-2 to Fly Over, one F/A-18 launches, the second aborts. Sorry, it looks like they both launch. The second one sounds like it's spooling down but it does the surface check and goes.
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted September 27, 2020 ED Team Share Posted September 27, 2020 Try moving the units on the ship so they snap back to the ship, and resave the mission. It may help. thanks Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Glide
Thanks, Bignewy! The fix for me is to put the E-2's in the air.
