Asus 4K 144Hz G-sync

Recommended Posts

ROG-SWIFT-PG27UQ 4K 144Hz G-sync Quantum Dot IPS

Little expensive!

I would like to see someone try and get that thing to a constant 144 fps with DCS.

Maxed out the settings yesterday in DCS Beta with the new settings SSAA 2.0, 4 x MSAA and hit 25 FPS LOL. Normally only run (max settings) with 2 x MSAA and was getting 70 - 100+ FPS.

4k with 144 Hz refresh rate for DCS? :D

Unreal...

DCS a simulator and 60 Hz refresh rate more than nice.

But I don't understand why 4k with 27"? It's very low pixel and this greatly strains the eyesight.

I'm used 26" with 1920*1200 and it was nice. 32" good with 1440 resolution.

Now I'm use 40" iiyama X4071UHSU with 4k and GTX 1070. Have a stable 60 fps in DCS.

My graphical DCS settings and nvidia drivers here in russian theme: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3477485&postcount=535

With GTX 1080Ti you can use 4k resolution with max DCS settings and stable 60 fps. :)

There is a few discussions going on now about the visibility model. That 27 inch at 4K would not be good for DCS for spotting.

I have the older ASUS PG278Q 144Hz @ 1440p and it's a good balance for speed and usability with flight simulation. I guess it would be good for first person shooters, you would still need a real good PC to push that along and make it a worthwhile purchase.

Hmm, I have maxed out settings with SSAA-1.5x and gladly hit 70ish fps at WQHD.

It's hard to believe a 1080ti can drive 4k to 60Hz stable at any spot on the map, regardless, when everything is maxed out.

I hit the same low fps as David does, 25-28fps with SSAA2x...LoL but it looks so nice

I have no any SSAA on me realese version 2.5.

If that about beta, so it's a beta. Some bugs and other problem for beta - it's a normal. ))))

"Maximum" settings non "extreme". And don't forget that the maps optimization continues.

I make my tests and flights on the Caucasus map online server with some players and upload 4k video with fps indicator.

SSAA very hard for PC. I don't use game AA. I like game AA off and drivers FXAA by 4x. On my 40" with 4k resolution very nice results - stable 60 fps with Vsync at 98% ot time. :)

I was like wow, what a beast, 4k, 144, G-Sync, IPS.... time to change my monitor. Then I noticed this:

27''

Seriously.....

You'll need to wait a bit more for something like nvidia bfgd. Or just find a decent TV.

This monitor is mostly for pro gamers with deep pockets, smaller screen is better to see everything thats happening in the game at the same time, without swiveling your head like mad.

I second the recommendation to wait for the BFGD.

4k = ideal destination

120+Hz = necessary

27" = too pixel dense for games or standard desktop use

65" = enough space to feel immersed in the game, and low enough pixel density up close that standard Windows scaling should be appropriate and work well for normal desktop uses like web browsing.

In other words, if the screen had more pixels at 8k resolution, would 27" be reasonable? Would 8k @ 34" be reasonable? Probably not.

I'm imagining this is the future:

I must agree with firmek, 4k on 27 inches is a bad joke
