Very good read, especially with some nice explanations about the how, when, and why of doing things in preparation for takeoff and landing.

This aircraft is a nightmare on takeoff and landing, got to be the hardest in DCS. I will try your 20 degrees of flap for TO

I used to have a tough time with it, but now find it to be easier to takeoff and land than even the P51. I always lock the tailwheel, though. Might be something to do with that.

The Spitifire is true hell on the earth, but great once it's in the air.

Above all it's interesting to note that among the many similar articles I've read about how this 109s were dealt with, and are still by the few who own some collection models, the use of the extravagant ATA rates we simmers tend to use all of the time in ou simulated battles is far from realistic.

They used to operate, even in combat, at max 1.4, usually 1.3, limits only exceeded in absolutely necessary conditions.

maybe google translate will help for those who don't understand German.

Thanks for this find, Rocco! I will try the takeoff and landing procedures described in the article. However, I don't know what this is (in the landing procedure): "... über einen Schalter können die Kerzen abgebrannt werden."

Do we have that switch in the sim?

Edit: I searched in Options/Controls. The Kurfürst apparently doesn't have that switch for burning off the fouling from the spark plugs.

This is the simmers privilege ;)

same what type of sim, if competitiveness is present. No one cares for the rides we use. Our sim planes and cars are expendable. Their parts at least are even if we care enough about our rides to get us home/over the finishline.

Maybe in the future sims there is like rpg element for the rides... you get 1 engine for 3-4 flights/races :D

They didn't fight against DCS AI with supernatural capabilities:)
