I recommend simultaneous use of Teamspeak and SRS.

SRS for ingame radio comms and TS to see who‘s online, briefing what to do on next flight, debriefing and chit-chat.

... and I've been saying that for ages. Not sure, why it's such a big deal for many to install TS. Get the tool, chat with others, coordinate your attacks and only then get on SRS for in-game comms.

Yeah tbh I would prefer if TS was used for both. Can someone please tell me how to use SRS in the mig21, I know how to use it in the 15 and warbirds but not sure about the 21

In the briefing of every mission it says:

AWACS: 124 MHz (channel 0 for the MiG-21 and the L-39)

You have predefined channels in the MiG-21. And I've assigned channel 0 (zero) to be the one for AWACS in all missions.

nope it is not a big deal, not at all, i've installed TS and SRS ... my only issue with 2 different comm-platforms is: you divide the total users of the whole system to 2 independent comm platforms

it would be great if SRS could be implemented as channel in TS (via the server) and all could use more or less the same platform - if that is possible of course! ;)

Nevermind, i'll add the cold war server to my TS-Server list and give it a try with the mentioned process :thumbup:

SRS is really nice if you're in a plane with a decent radio. When you're in a MiG-15, you're super alone in comms. Not sure about the MiG-19, but I from what I saw, it's more close to the -15 than to the -21. (and the same for the Sabre on blue side)

am i wrong in noticing blue players usually outnumber red? Would you consider moving the viggen over to red side, to even out the numbers?

it seems it depends on time ... most of the time i feel it is even, like yesterday it was 7 blue, 1 red ... an hour later it was even again ...

i wouldn't see the viggen on the red side, and wouldn't recommend switching it to the other side (as it was designed to counter a soviet invasion ;) )

2 more weeks and the mig19 will arrive and blue will be outnumbered for the next couple of weeks till the f14 drops and everybody is flying it. :)

I doubt F-14 will drop in this server, for obvious reasons, just wait for the embarrasingly delayed F-4 and flogger...that would make even sides with full fidelity modules without having to use Fc stuff...

sadly, its the community in your server.. other pvp servers like 104th..ddcs, bf.. all have a community thats willing to communicate with others.. that means hoppin in srs,discord,ts..etc.. this the first server i experience were people dont wana join comms at all ;(

You nailed it! That's exactly the issue.

Some of us might be just tired with "i tell you story of my life" or ''hold my hand'' guys and really enjoy the fact that nobody is forcing anybody to be on live comms if they in current moment dont want to

for coordination short written massages are also enough.

anyway, everybody has his own ''poison'' and shouldn't force others to do things they in current moment dont want

Which is why I'm against Discord. That's exactly the attitude you get there.

In every mission I have, ground pounders have lots to do. And ground pounders should coordinate with other ground pounders and/or escort. But you rarely see that. And if listening in on SRS, all you hear is "got one!", "I'm RTB", "Wait! I'm in a dogfight!", etc., hardly for a teamwork. But that's mostly the case in every server.

That's not something you can generaly change, but you can join a squadron and use comms properly. TS is more like for those who are looking for someone to team up with on a short notice. But squadrons use it as well.

Wasn't my intention that you imply its dropping on this server as i know it's not gonna happen. But still it seems a lot of people have bought it, myself included and that it'll result in less populated servers without the f14 since everyone will take a look at the shiny new toy. :)

Last year when the F-18 was released in spring, this server, SeaQuark's Korea server, WWll servers and some other servers became ridiculously empty. The hype went on for several months. During that time this server used to have 5-10 players at most even during the most crowded times. Only after the hype had gradually declined, population on this server went back to normal.

The F-14 will have at least the same effect. However, the MiG-19 might still keep Red pilots occupied.

Absolutely, iam as eagerly awaiting the mig19 as much as the Tomcat.

hm the only way to bring people on comms is by forcing it ...

ddcs is doing it with discord for example - you need to be on comms, otherwise you're kicked

i wouldn't go THAT far, but something has to be done here somehow ...

i for myself seldom join srs as long as there is no GCI - for me the GCI is somehow the moderator of the comms and this leads to productive gameplay ...

so we need more people on that role (red side counts on it ;) )

I think it's the nature of the missions: it's much more easy here to figure out what to do, and people use the Server as a kind of easy Team death match enviroment (inlcuding myself). The constant AWACS will always lead you to your next contact, there is almost no need to do comms at all except for calling bogey dope every 0.1sec

This is very different on DDCS or Blueflag, that's why People go on SRS + the missing dynamic results are less motivating to plan and coordinate.

I like the Server for what it is, a quick team death match without that BVR Fox3 nonsense

Hmmm... Now disabling AWACS might just be the thing to get people to use comms. Interesting thought. I wont be kicking anyone for not joining comms, but flying without it would then be tough.

use the EWRS script, you still have non voice GCI via F10 Option with that, but it should motivate to use comms :)

without AWACS you're mostly blind in DCS ...

i don't know if there would still be GCI functions possible without it ?

if this would be the case, you could give it a try in one mission, but if it isn't .. i believe it would kill the fun pretty fast (i am afraid ...)

But hey, we're here for experimenting aren't we ? :D
