majapahit
NOTAM (do military have notam?) Stennis landing lights back working, thought some people might be pleased to hear. drallabco
Now we just need an IFLOS that's actually visible at 3/4 mile. Glad ED is making fixes though, the community greatly appreciates it!

drallabco
Actually I think it is (now?), with VR it was hard to find the ball, but it seems, now I can In my experience it's still pretty tough to see unless I get pretty zoomed in even at .7 tacan distance. Doesn't get clear enough to see at regular zoom until about .4-.
Holden McGroyne
I can see it at 0.7, but it is just a coloured line, no definition, certainly not enough until it is a bit late to do anything about it anyway.

Strange, like I mentioned I had that same (VR) problem up until recently, IFLOS a shimmering nothing pixel surrounded by a puddle of more shimmer. Perhaps its my new (a lot higher) Rift settings. Oculus Tray Tool SS 2.5 (!), DCS PD 1.5, DOF Bokeh, Textures&Terrain HIGH, SS x2, Aniso 16x etc In daylight I can (now) see a yellow dot of the IFLOS at >5 miles out if approached from the right angle, and easily (workable) spot the ball now soon enough at final, where before this was a wild guess about something yellowish within that shimmer blob. I had to restart DCS and test the view of the deck about 30 times to get here, but he. How about them apples? drallabco
pirep is weather report. Not always. PIREP just stands for Pilot Report. Could be about the state/condition of a runway surface. It can really be for anything, but yes, it is typically a weather report.

drallabco
No. PIREP is exclusively report of hazardous weather (and other atmospheric phenomena like ash) encountered in flight. As you can see the form, theres no category for "state/condition of a runway surface". >Remarks
WildBillKelsoe
Now we just need an IFLOS that's actually visible at 3/4 mile. Glad ED is making fixes though, the community greatly appreciates it! It could be a pop up if they cant "enlarge" it enough. Just as you enter the groove it pops up. Doesnt have to be gigantic to take up screen space, or resizeable like the NS430. AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. Kenan
Why not just make the ball (as indicated in the post above) simply "pop up" (as it used to in Jane's F/A-18)? It's hard for me in VR to see it (before it's too late i.e. I'm about to hit the deck) and I assume I am not the only having this problem. captflyby
Stennis landing lights broken again? Won't come on when inbound. Set comm1 or comm2 to 127.500 Announce inbound Lights will come on, IF it is "night" Lights go off after successful landing Note: I think light should go ON and STAY ON during ANY bad weather, regardless of time of day. But that's just me...

But that's just me... I radio inbound, no runway lights, before sunrise. Since last update I guess, they worked a week ago. Not too big of a deal, changed the time of the mission and then noticed how much I relied on those lights on the Stennis. :) Although I hope it gets fixed (if it's broken that is).
