Vlerkies
Hi folks Is the searchlight working in the current release? I can turn it on and slew it but not seeing hardly anything getting lit up on the ground even when super low? thanks Thermaltake View 91, Z390 Gigabyte Aorus Ultra, i9 9900K, Corsair H150i Pro, 32Gb Trident Z 3200, Gigabyte Aorus Extreme 2080ti, Corsair AX1200i, Warthog A-10 Hotas, MFG Crosswind pedals, TiR5 Pro, HP Reverb Pro
Tippis
They work in the sense that you can turn them on and slew them around and illuminate stuff. The problem is that the whole lighting engine is in a frightful state of disrepair ever since they implemented deferred shading, and they're (very slowly) making small parts of it work again. In particular, lighting of terrain — the thing you'd use search lights for — is so weak as to be largely non-existant, be it from search lights or illumination bombs or spotlights or any other kind of dynamic lighting. So the functionality is there and nothing is broken. It's just that the rendering pipeline isn't producing remotely sensible or realistic results. ❧ ❧ Inside you are two wolves. Vlerkies
Ok thanks. After a long time away from the Huey I have been getting back into it. I thought I was doing something maybe wrong as I did not have a problem before with it. Yeah the beam only extends maybe 10 meters and is very weak. Gonna have to try mission 4 of Argo campaign blind lol. jacksos101
Yeah, those night missions are very difficult with the current Huey lighting. I ended up having to change the mission time in the editor to a couple of hours earlier, which made the mission possible as it was still light. Doesn't give the same challenge as the author intended, but was still enjoyable to fly. Hopefully the lighting effects get fixed soon...
