Ok does DCS work with other missions or is it only this campaign's issue ?

Yes, works fine with other missions. Playing "Hunters Over Yalu" campaign. Works great. Course, not quite the same thing. Just wondering if I edited the *.bat files correctly and if not, could that mess things up. You just supposed to edit the file so it's the correct path to your main DCS folder, correct? Frustrating. Sure love to get it to work. Thanks.

My opinion is that it is better to use the saved Games folder because in case of game repair the files will not be deleted !

So if you look the screen above you can copy the "f-86f sabre" folder including its two subfolders ("Pakistan Air Force 54026" and "Pakistan Air Force 54995") and past it in you Users/user name/saved games/DCS/Liveries folder (if "Liveries" doesn't exist : create it)

Tell me if it works

Thanks PB0_CEF, that worked for the skins, I had an extra layer of sub-folder in there

Not sure to understand you : you didn't use OvGME or JSGME to install Indo-Pak War Mod or didn't you install this mod at all ?

The campaign needs this mod and if you don't use OvGME or JSGME you will have to copy past them after each update as you guessed ...

Yes, I don't have OvGME or JSGME or know how to use them, so I didn't touch those 2 files in the "Indo-Pak War Mod" folder. I installed the campaign manually without those 2 files and it seems to work ok, first mission is generated, when I exit out, the DOS window pops up to ask if I want to keep the results. All working good.

Now that I have the skins working, I'll try a full play through of the first mission and report back here.

Many thanks for your help

Which folders you want to see? Here's saved game. Just something about my rig. Updated vid driver but no joy. Dang.

Good  thank you. This part seems good for me.

Now I need to see the folders directly under "DCE" folder. There should be a "Missions", a "ScriptsMod" folder and an "entry.lua" file. If it's good show me :

-the "path = ... " line in the camp_init.lua file in the "Init" folder (copy/past) example :

camp = {

title = "India-Pak War-71 - Sabre", --Title of campaign (name of missions)

path = "Saved Games/DCS/Mods/tech/DCE/Missions/Campaigns/India-Pak War-71 - Sabre/", --path of campaign folder

-what is in the FirstMission.bat file = it should point to your main game ... example :

start "Generate First Mission" cmd /k ""F:\DCS World\bin\luae.exe" ..\..\..\ScriptsMod\BAT_FirstMission.lua"

Good morning

Ok deleted the campaign folders. All that remains was what was there before my experiment.

The scriptsMod folder is still there though..

Ok

Step 2:

Open "TF-68-Tomcat-80s-20.31-22.zip" file

In this zip file, double click inside via "tech/DCE/Missions/Campaigns" until you see, inside this zip file, what you see in my picture.

Then select the 5 files that appear in the image, i.e. (

TF-68-Tomcat-80s folder

TF-68-Tomcat-80s.cmd

TF-68-Tomcat-80s_first.miz

TF-68-Tomcat-80s_ongoing.miz

TF-68.png )

And Drag and drop to your "campaigns" folder as shown in the picture with the red arrow.

In FirstMission.bat put this line

start "Generate First Mission" cmd /k ""C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\luae.exe" ..\..\..\ScriptsMod\BAT_FirstMission.lua"

Step 4:

Run the file FirstMission.bat (no error?)

Step 5:

launch DCS World, Tab DCE, the TF-68-Tomcat-80s campaign

If it still doesn't work, re-upload an image of your TF-68-Tomcat-80s installation/folder here

I ask what Im doing wrong especially because .

1. Id like to eventuallt run a campaign with def a2g

2. Id like to run or try running the iran vs US campaign.

I know option 1 is a matter of patience. thats fine. Option 2 may not work but if I knew what I was fundamentally doing wrong...

Idk why but I tried it before. It crashed on debrief. But the idea of my lone f14 flying cap and deciding to engage or not etc... it appealed to me.

Anyways cheers and thanks againn!!!

Once again some how you magically got first mission bat to work without error. Running a mission and quittingnto see how debrief reacts..

Thanks for being my guardian angel miguel..

Step 6:

In SkipMission.bat put this line

start "Generate First Mission" cmd /k ""C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\luae.exe" ..\..\..\ScriptsMod\BAT_SkipMission.lua"

Step 7:

In DEBUG_DebriefMission.bat put this line

start "Generate First Mission" cmd /k ""C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\luae.exe" ..\..\..\ScriptsMod\Debrief_Master.lua"

Amazing! You got another one to work!

What am I doing wrong here?!

What other campaign?

Upload (as usual) an image of your installation/folder

1. Id like to eventuallt run a campaign with def a2g
WW2?

PBO_CEF isn't interested, so it won't create one.

Youre amazing. Im so indebted to you.

No not ww2 - a2g air to ground. something if not solely air to ground where I do some ground attack. Id love to do so in my f14 but it is ahistorical.

The campaign in question is persian f14 vs US .. BY copying your code that made tf 68 work (ty so much) i got it to make a mission but a error would happen after i prompted s or m. I tested tf 68 and debriefs work too. In a few hours ill fly my first mission. In that though Im still flying TF Alpha. Mission 10.

Ha ok,

Ground air is possible it seems to me,

For "IRIAF Tomcat over Persian Gulf:" on the other hand, this is another story, I told you that the old campaign released before December 2019 was settling elsewhere (main or core folder).

These are old campaigns that Cef will be updating.

Yes air to ground is possible for the Tomcat but I will let Miguel explain to you how to do it with your installed campaigns :music_whistling:

IRIAF Tomcat will be available when we will be sure new code works (I'm waiting for it for several days ;) )

Hey bud. I will get those screenshots to you soon. I really think the campaign is installed correctly. My "First Mission bat" works, no errors. I've been experimenting and I noticed that if I fire up the campaign, start the mission and just sit in the pit for like...less than 30 seconds, then when I hit Escape, it works! I get the stats window, the next mission dos type window and the proper DCS window. I can generate the next mission then hit "End Mission" and everything good. If I am in the mission more than about 30 seconds....then, splash screen and can't quit DCS but by task manager. Stats window and next mission windows appear but have to alt-tab to them. Nothing saves because can't quit DCS properly. Also, I saw there might be a full screen issue. I hit alt-enter in mission and that seems to help. Everything normal one time, then, another time, instead of the splash screen, the cockpit view just froze. Got stats window and next mission but DCS frozen in cockpit view and task manager end. Thinks just something wonky with my rig. Vid driver or something. Strange that the campaign seemed to work with your original dl. Ran into that freq. glitch but it seemed to work. Anyway, thanks for the help. Pretty neat campaign. Hope I can get it to work.

Oh sorry I didn’t really understand what your problem was :(

I had the same problem few weeks ago and I never discovered why I had it. I’m sure it was related to my DCE program and my personal configuration because only few people have it. The good news is that it’s better for me now. I nearly never have this bug anymore :)

The other good news is that this bug don’t prevent you to play DCE campaigns :)

If when you quit the campaign you have the debrief text window and the dos like one you can accept the result and play a next mission:)

Two possibilities:

- the first mission ends normally: you are saved : even if at the end of the next missions you have the bug, DCE will continue to work and generate new missions and save the results ! DCS campaign system will not reflect the good stats but you don’t care: DCE will do the job !

- you are not able to finish the first mission normally but you want to continue the campaign (so good results ;) ) : don’t use DCS campaigns system anymore : use the mission system and select the campaign_name_ongoing.miz mission. After each missions end a new one will be generated with the same name but including the results ;)

With DCE, DCS campaign is only a useful way to select missions : the first is always the campaign_name_first.miz (generated with first mission.bat file) then the next missions selected will be the campaign name _ongoing.miz :)

To strike in F14 with the campaigns:

TF68_Tomcat

TF74_Tomcat

1/ download and install notepad++.

2/ open the file

"Saved Games\DCS\Mods\tech\dce\missions\Campaigns\TF-68-Tomcat-80s\Init\oob_air_init.lua"

3/ modify line 85 of the tomcat player

[ Strike ] = False,

at

[ Strike ] = True,

(if you only want to strike, set the Intercept, CAP, Escort and Fighter Sweep options to false)

4/ apply the changes by restarting the FirsMission.bat file.

5/ reset the campaign in DCS, DCE tab: button reset campaign

Man youre a maestro!

Nooo no strike only. Thats not realistic for these campaigns. Indeed if i could makenis so strikes only happened either where it was needed (i.e. high risk ops and laterbwhen a2a stuff isnt as needed) I would. Thanks so much though!

Now miguel im not a rich man. And im not sure if its possible. But while i have. alittle money is it at all possible to make some sort of DCE CAMPAIGN that mostly involves either CSAR or troop insertion/extraction?

I will pay you if you can make one because I know this is annoying and work.

Also my original offer stands.
