Raviar
Hi all, I have problem in DCS and it is laggy, I tried the F-18 Free Flight pre define mission, which is pretty light mission, the frame rate drops below 30 fps which is quite annoying with my hardware and spec. Using windows 10. all drivers from official DVD are installed and system is fully updated. The HW list as below: Core i9-9900K - Overclocked Via AI Overclocking XMPII by mainboard Main Board: ASUS ROG maximus hero xi wifi GPU: ASUS ROG strix RTX-2080TI O11C RAM: 32 GB corsair 3200 PSU: corsair hx 1200w 80+ platinum HDD: Samsung M2 PCIE 970 EVO PLUS. Monitor: 4K 60 fps - LG27UK600 in the last 3 attachments which are 7,8,9 you can see the FPS. will be really appreciated if anyone can help! :( Thanks Edited July 3, 2019 by mani.zaeim
LooseSeal
I'm not entirely sure what the issue is, and I'm sure others will be along and be more knowledgeable... but I'd personally not have Civilian Traffic at High. I usually just have it off entirely, because it does affect performance and, just for me, brings very little to the experience. - i7-7700k - 32GB DDR4 2400Mhz - GTX 1080 8GB - Installed on SSD - TM Warthog DCS Modules - A-10C; M-2000C; AV8B; F/A-18C; Ka-50; FC-3; UH-1H; F-5E; Mi-8; F-14; Persian Gulf; NTTR
Wait4It
Try it with msaa off first. High res and high AA are resource killers. Also doublecheck if the RTX card is actually doing the rendering instead of the onboard chip Edited July 2, 2019 by Wait4It
M1Combat
You don't need 4xMSAA at 4K res... Turn it off. Or stick with 2x. Also turn shadows down a notch and heat blur up. I use VR so I'm not quite as familiar with Nvidia settings as the monitor guys (in VR we have different settings we run there) but I'd say even go with no MSAA and figure out what AA to run in the NVidia settings, and probably with MFAA enabled. But get a second opinion on that. Raviar
Thanks alot guys, You all are great, @LooseSeal you made my day, I was thinking about some HW config out of the DCS, But ur comment just made me think I have to change the Graphic setting. @Wait4It Thanks, your 100% right, I turned Off the MSAA and its 59 to 61 FPS without any lag @M1Combat Thank. I did it. Really appreciated

M1Combat
Nah... DCS isn't a twitch game. Leave Vsync on. You might enable "fast VSync" in the NVidia CPL but I think last time I tried that it made DCS crash but that was quite some time ago now. It probably works fine. I'd rather see it capped at 60 (or whatever your refresh rate is) at 2xMSAA than produce a good deal of wasted frames that you can't see anyway. If you can get over 60FPS at 4K and 2xMSAA anyway :)... Raviar
[sOLVED] Really Need Help on Graphic Setting - Testing the setting :) Nah... I didn find the FastVSync. But turned on the 2xMSAA and it is fine, but with this resolution and 4xMSAA I confirm it drops the frame rate dramatically. When I decrease the Res to 2560x1440 and 4xMSAA and 2xSSAA it is fine and get to 60fps. With 2xMSAA, When I turn On the FXAA and MFAA from Nvidia Control Panel it drops below 40 fps The attachment contains the request one, 2xMSAA 4K ..., I am not sure is it because of monitor which limited to 60fps or its the DCS. (But I will turn off the C.V traffic later on). Please let me know if you guys have any setting which you want put it in Test, I will do my best to test it for you if you need. Thanks again for your helps.

schmiefel
I would try to run DCS in Fullscreen Mode, too, as long as you are using only one screen and don't have additional data displays on separate screen(s) ... makes quite some more FPS on my system if I run it at fullscreen mode. Strong05
Try deleting your metashader and FXO folders under your saved games folder>DCS. Might have something to do with running extreme view distance? I've only ever run high. Could also be running shadows at default. Seems like most people run the baked in terrain only shadows. Those are just guesses though. 5800X3d, 32GB DDR4@3400, 6800 xt, Reverb G2, Gunfighter/TMWH

M1Combat
"Try deleting your metashader and FXO folders under your saved games folder>DCS." Yeah I think that's good advice... There's also the meta shaders folder in each terrain folder... I don't recall where they are off the top of my head though and I'm at work so I can't check. If it is Asus brand definitely u should be able to do that. otherwise I think every gpu has its own monitoring tools, or u may try the same software

I turned off the MFAA on the NVidia Control Panel and it resolve the problem! :( But I am not sure by turning off the MFAA how it can affect on decreasing the graphic quality in the 4k screen. WinsStars
New here, 2 quick questions: 1, If I choose preset high, DCS just tick the MSAA off for me. why? Is AA not recommended in this game and will have huge impact on graphics and gameplay? 2, With a 1080ti, should I turn it on manually? 2x or 4x? A airline pilot be conscripted to... The new lighting system deferred shading doesn't play nice with in-game MSAA. For most people running at 2x works but any higher and you get huge hit to fps. You can help smooth things out with graphic card 3d settings. For my gtx 970 I get good results adding these AA mode-enhance app setting AA 2x AA FXAA on vsync fast
