Thank Bazooka,

You hit the nail on the head.

My goals were: Realistic, Accurate, Inexpensive and Easy to Build.

The Small to Medium size cockpit can be built (Fuselage only) for less than 50.00 if you use MDF for material. A little more for Plywood. Two sheets will do it with a few 2x4's. My thought is, this opens the door to lots of people that wanted to build a cockpit simulator but couldn't afford it.

Once the fuselage is built, you can choose to customize it as much or little as you choose, when you choose.

I wanted this to make things simple, rather than more complicated, and I think we've achieved that.

Glad to help anyone with a cockpit project...just say the word.

Let me know if I can help.

Now I can move forward again as you have done all the hard stuff. Like you I hope it will start others building "warbird" pits and maybe a few of those who were working on things like the throttle and interior panels to finish there work on some of the hardware and make it available to us as you have. Well done!!!

Default Print Files

Here are a few pictures of the PDS Print files I provide with the AutoCAD files.

This can be printed at a local print shop at full size, then you cut the parts out, glue them to your material (MDF or Plywood), and cut out your parts. Easy Cheesy

These parts are for the Small and or Medium P-51D Cockpit

Let me know if you have any questions.

Default Cockpit Items Added

Hi Guys

I have just sent out a new CAD file to all those that got the plans.

In it, I've added a number of cockpit items like Pilots Control Pedestal, Landing Gear Handle, Main Instr Panel, Trim Control Knobs, Flap Handle, etc.

Here are a few teaser shots.

The goodies just keep coming. Cant say enough good words to describe it. Was wondering if you have plans to add drawings for the stick, throttle and rudder assemblies.

Hi Guy

Here are a few more items that I finished up this weekend.

Radio, Switch Boxes and Stick are next. I should have everything in the cockpit finished up in a week or two.

Then I can focus on finishing up the Spitfire.

If you don't have AutoCAD, there is free CAD viewer/printer from Autodesk that works great and easy to use. I have all the drawings set up for printing so you should have no trouble.

Enjoy

Hi Guys,

Here are a few more items that I've finished up this week.

I'm also going to upload a list of all the drawings you get in the CAD package. It's a bunch for sure

Enjoy...Blue Skys Everyone

Impressive job!
May I suggest a drawing set with only the main control sections. For example the pedestal, throttle assembly, front switch box and such.

This for people(including my self) who don't have the space to go full simpit crazy

Hi Guys

Requesting a little help, please. FLOOR TO TOP OF STICK HEIGHT

After going through all the available drawings, I have determined that there is not (one) that provides the Stick height above the Cockpit Floor dimension.

I completed the drawings below with the Control Stick, Grip, Socket Assembly, Fitting Assembly and the Torque Tube. I used all the dimensional information from the drawings I could find and some information from Ed, (Thanks, Ed), and from another forum member to complete the drawing below.

I am asking if you guys agree with these measurements or if not, do you have some information that can help make this drawing more accurate.

Thanks

Stang
