Tanö
Hey, i realy enjoy flying the harrier in DCS and i love the details of the cockpit. Just a small thing... while watching this Video i realiced that there is a missing cord at the canopy frame: don´t know if it is a WIP thing or it was forgotten. I´m in the beta Version of DCS. from a other video Edited June 27, 2019 by Tanö
KTFBGB
This is a pretty recent video (2013). I’m just guessing here, but maybe that wire is for something in current model Harriers that our version we have in DCS does not have.
Tanö
I thought the same about it. But i couldn't find a Picture/Video of a Harrier without this wire.
SGT Coyle
That's part of the ejection system. It's a det-cord type explosive that shatters the canopy glass prior to the seat motor ignition. Are you in Release or Beta? Release: Edited June 27, 2019 by SGT Coyle Night Ops in the Harrier IYAOYAS

SGT Coyle
Ask to move this to Bugs Section, and edit original post to reflect that it's Beta. Maybe PM =Decoy=. Good catch. Night Ops in the Harrier IYAOYAS

Sierra99
That's part of the ejection system. It's a det-cord type explosive that shatters the canopy glass prior to the seat motor ignition. Are you in Release or Beta? Release: I don't think that's the "cord" he's talking about...the pictures show a black wire loom on the canopy frame running along and behind the mirrors...which is in fact. It present. Now as previously suggested it might be for something our Harrier does not have...but it's not part of the ejection system. SGT Coyle
Sierra99, Right'O My bad. Could be a field mod or Revision If its a AV8B/NA, but there are always changes to these things. My squadron installed an entire Emergency Buoyancy Pontoon System in the field. CH-46's Night Ops in the Harrier IYAOYAS
=DECOY=
Ok so our resident harrier pilot is busy however I have checked with a former ground crew for the harrier. Every harrier has different mods and repairs. From the back up compass light to added warning lights, like ones seen on the frame He believes this is a repair, and its not standard on harriers out the factory;) Really good spot tho :) Water cooled i9-9900K | Maximus Code XI MB | RTX3090 | 64GB | HP Reverb G2
