PanelBuilder
I think we're getting there. But this model servo is a little flakey at the top end of the gauge scale. Can't quite do 180 deg throw. Here's the vid: Cheers, Colin
pitbldr
Looking good Colin!! You plan on selling "plug and play" gauges or is this just for your project?
y2kiah
ooh sweet, simple and effective. Can you enlighten me, how is the front face secured to those standoffs?
PanelBuilder
Looking good Colin!! You plan on selling "plug and play" gauges or is this just for your project? Thanks pitbldr. Maybe a kit, down the road, if folks need it. Cheers, Colin

The face is attached to the standoffs with countersunk flathead bolts. The artwork, in this case overhead projector film, is then glued on top. PanelBuilder
That's right. http://www.servocity.com/html/servo_mount_gears.html Cheers, Colin I just wanted to mention that I'm trying to get away from the servo-mount gears. Aside from the fact that they're expensive and only available from one place, the thing about them is they sit flush with the top of the spline; they are not offset to one end of a barrel like a normal servo horn. This can be an issue depending on which servo you use and how thick a plate you want to mount it on. I am moving towards this approach: Cheers, Colin

doright
..servo-mount gears. Aside from the fact that they're expensive and only available from one place... Wow, I looked up the "patents" http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2&Sect2=HITOFF&p=1&u=%2Fnetahtml%2FPTO%2Fsearch-bool.html&r=0&f=S&l=50&TERM1=Robotzone&FIELD1=ASNM&co1=AND&TERM2=&FIELD2=&d=PTXT held by assignee Robotzone for their servo gears, talk about obscuring obvious and prior art under an uncessing assault of geometrical mumbo-zombo. The US patent office is clearly not doing its job.
