I was curious about this, so just tried turning it on. No visual difference for me at 1.5 or 2.0. There was no degradation to fps either so I figure it just isn't firing up in VR mode.

I expect that is likely the case.
I will stick with my PD and 2x MSAA.

Yup, I think I just got a little overzealous after installing a 2080ti. My bad

Hi
would you recommend the 2080Ti for Rift flying, which is all I do?

I am not so much concerned on the price purely on performance. I currently have 1080.
Thanks

Neal

Hmm that's a tough call. Purely for performance, probably not. You will likely be able to increase some graphics settings, but you will not see any significant gains in FPS if your into counting those. It's a fairly large price to pay for increasing some graphic settings.

Now I went from 1080 Ti to 2080 Ti, so that is where I am coming from. Can't say I regret getting it , I am pleased with it and the ability to up my PD setting and some graphics settings, so it looks better for me. Worth the price I paid for that? Probably not. But I am doing a new build before end of the year so I am taking that into account also. Hopefully my new rig will be able to feed that 2080 Ti a little better resulting in somewhat better overall performance.

Are you overclocking your CPU?

After following this thread and owning a 1080 as well, I chose to go halfway and got an MSI RTX2080 Duke over the weekend. I carefully benchmarked several games and in particular DCS before installing the new card. Comparing my results to the AureliusA's tests mentioned in this thread and found once I overclocked the card to a stable 2070Mhz and 700 on the memory I was only about 10-15% lower than the 2080ti overall inc VR. Contrary to most reviews I watched and read on the 2080 this particular card overclocked far beyond what I expected (silicon lottery I spose smiled for me). From the stock 1080 to overclocked 2080 was about 40% to 50% average increase in monitor mode and about 25% to 30% in VR Although it seemed hard to actually quantify in VR due to the ASW kicking in and sometimes it would not disable on all tests. But that being said full high settings were extremely smoothe (and I would never need to fly high in VR) but medium settings or the test settings from this thread were great. I run pixel density at 1.8 and was running the shader mod (couldn't tell the difference). I am glad I didnt spring for the TI version as it is $2200aud to $2500 here in Australia and the MSI 2080 Duke was only $1200aud.I am happy with my decision and if on the fence and value for money was a concern I would not get the TI. What I am hoping for is if AureliusA can get any SLI hacks workable I might spring for a second card further down the track when the price drops. I have always used a second or third tier SLI setup over the years and found a much higher performance than a single TI card.....and usually about a third cheaper. Dont know if this will be the case with the RTX series or the current DCS build though, unless that elusive VR SLI hack can be found.
Please note that I may have lucked out with the performance of this card and be aware that maybe not all 2080's will reach these overclock levels and performance, because as I said above my research didn't show this....with the exception for one review, out of about 10 that I looked at, from Jarods Tech on Youtube.
And a big thanks to AureliusAugustus for his data and work here.....hope you have luck with SLI
