The automated leading edge flaps on flanker are shown in pit instruments as regular flaps

 

Correct as per manual.

 

and every time they extract/retract in flight the flaps audio sound is there...

 

Seems to be OK in latest build. Just have a wee looksee post next update and report again if necessary. As said, seems to be resolved now with latest build.

Once again regarding that Su 27 landing gear issue. I just triple checked it. Landing gear isnt working only in Instant Action mission Su 27 intercept.

 

Cannot replicate with latest build - landing gear deploys fine on SU-27.

Can you tell me which mission you are referring to, Kuky?

I wasn't referring to any particular mission, just saying that even though you might have mini HUD option disabled in your game settings, if someone makes a mission and turns mini HUD on and forces it (you can do this for any option in game) when you fly this mission you will see mini HUD enabled. If you want to check, rename mission.miz file to mission.zip or mission.miz.zip (so it shows as archive) then you can open it, and check options file to see what options are set for that mission.

This is issue because of GUI not fixed yet fully for multimonitor setups (I see you have 2 monitors)... I have/had same issue and found a workaround... see this thread:

Yes. As in the real life.

 

R 27ET (ALAMO C) According to Wikipedia range is about 120km in game is around 30. Same goes for R27ER

Wiki is wrong.

The R-27E missiles family has about 60-66 km range at high altitude.

Data by oficial VVS Su-27 combat implementation book.

 

No R60 avaliable for su 27...

As in real life.

Some mor info on Bug Item:

 

"86 - SU33/27 and Mig29 Missile fire Zone computations bugged"

 

Some more info. In STT the DLZ values as reported are all the same for all missile types i.e. the reported bug.

 

However in TWS and you run the TDC over the target the DLZ indications vary for each selected missile type (and on inspection are appropriate) for each selected missile type.

Hey Viper, I got the latest update this evening 1.2.2 7286 and it's no change about this. I think this is still wrong, I've labeled in attached image what should be automated leading edge slats and flaps... when you lower the flaps (for take off/landing) the lower lights light up (as it should). As you get some AoA and automated leading edge slats extract the top green lights should be on, but in sim still the lower lights are on.

 

I am using zzzspace sound pack and I can hear this sound very clearly (with original game sounds I can hear it also but it's little lower volume so not that distinct)... I like zzzspace sound pack better so I've just edited .../Sounds/sdef/Aircrafts/FlapsEndIn.sdef file and set gain = 0 so I don't hear it :noexpression:

 

PS:

is actually issue with scroll bar not being adjusted in multimonitor setups (with 2 or more screens set next to each other left/right the scroll bar becomes too wide). I did little more checking and I am sure now Su-27 is not working properly about this

 

In MiG-29 which has the same indicator, the top light is on when leading edge slats are extracted. The automated engine protection grill on the intake is not shown in pit, I don't see why Su-27 would be any different as both have these automated leading edge slats for high AoA.

 

In Su-27 though the top light again does turn on on start up when leading edge slats are extracted, only once airborne and gears are retracted the leading edge slats retract also and the top lights are off.

 

But in flight in Su-27, as soon as you pull some G and create some AoA both leading edge slats and flaps extract... I don't know if flaps should be doing this but it doesn't seem right... and in this instance only the bottom light doesn't actually turn on and stay on, it just blinks and happens that when almost in level flight and just pull/push on the stick a little (to create tiny nose wobble) the top light turns on and off many times and I can hear this sound many times... this can't be right.

 

PS: I know the flanker is very old model but it is missing the engine protection cover during take off and landing.. which MiG-29 has in game and working well.

Leading edge flaps in flight in both the SU27 and Mig29 are automatically scheduled as a function of AOA and Mach number and gear position. In effect when you have the gear retracted and flaps in the UP position you get full time Leading edge combat flap type arrangement. So it is normal for the leading edge flaps to be varying their position continuously as AOA and or Mach number changes. This is pretty much standard for nearly all modern fighters Western and Russian/Chinese etc. Many also schedule limited amounts of trailing edge flap as well. The Hornet leading edge flaps can move at around 30deg sec depending on AOA onset rate.

yeah I get that, but I didn't word it properly... what I wanted to say is I don't think it's right that regular flaps are lowered also, which they do now in sim... and again the light that represents regular flaps is on but light that represents leading edge slats are not.

 

The way I think should work (and you seem to confirm it) is that regular flaps should not be automatically lowered as function of AoA and this should be working for leading edge slats only, and the light that should turn on is top light, not bottom.

Good find. Just launched several R-27Rs and R-27s at Rmax for each missile myself using those DLZs and they seem about right.

Kuky, about SLATS and FLAPERONS lights in the left front cockpit panel you are right.

 

In flight on the real Su-27 the Slats get extracted and retracted in auto mode to help flight maneouvers, and the light showing this movement must be on and off following it. Also they have extrated and retracted position mode.

 

But ALSO the flaperons has an auto mode, ( Retracted position, extracted position and AUTO mode ), in auto mode Flaperons follow the Slats in helping the pilot flight inputs in AoA, G´s, rolls etc. I don´t know if also the green lights lits up when the flaperons are moving in auto mode but for Slats i´m 100% sure that it must be on when are extrated.

 

In take off and landings de flaperons are extracted at 18º down, but in flight could move up 27º max. 18º down for roll axis from pilot inputs and also in auto mode following AFCS control together with the Slats.

 

So, FC3 Su-27 green lights for SLATS extraction are missing, and Flaperons moving in auto mode helping the flight inputs together with slats is like real Su-27 works.

 

The question is, also the green lights for flaps lits up in auto mode or only in Landing and Take off mode.

Beat me to it. Just took the SU-27 up to prove how incredibly rusty I was. And the proof is in the track. Wish I could blame it on the pipper but it seems to be working fine.
