Hi!

Today, we can read this update:

Introduced new high quality A-10C cockpit.

That's great news! Any estimation when this will be available?

Will that fix the cockpit switches too?

Uhm, now?!

Lol! Quite. :D

Looking forward to the first screens getting posted, as I'm stuck in work for the next seven hours. Haven't flown the Warthog in years, but I do love a nicely (re)modelled cockpit. :pilotfly:

Well, after todays update of the cockpit I`m in a totally different position when I jump in the seat.

Moving the cockpit camera around does not really give me the old default position which I (btw) never changed.

The HUD information seems larger than the glas it is projected on.

Don`t feel familiar anymore.

I hope I will find a useable position, and then the question is: how do I save it for me ???????

What goes up, must come down !

Yes, the issue of a brand new factory cockpit was just a matter of time :) But I think the community will soon put some weathering over that new car smell :)

The new layout is bigger issue for me. The bottom handles of the seat are in the line of sight of many switches. I cannot see APU anymore without changing the camera. It was made for VR/Track IR.

cockpit looks amazing. Maybe some wornout would look better

BTW, wasn't shark cockpit is due to be released prior to a-10?

Is there a new panel behind the Joystick with a number of rows of buttons? What is that for?

Well, i don't like this sterile look but that is personal preference and i don't think it's an issue as hopefully modders will came to the rescue.

The real problem here is the HUD, can't see a full hud anymore in 2D, both top/bottom and left right. You can even see it in ED screenshot on Facebook. Yes, you can move the camera forward and then zoom out to try and "recenter" the HUD but it's not the same. For someone that flies almost only in the A10, this is a very sad day!

And a proper neck has been finally implemented. The HUD shifts in both horizontal and vertical plane when you turn your head left and right and up and down. Very nice! As far as i can tell it's now the first module that has not only an eyepoint that is moved a bit forward from the neck, but a bit upward as well.

Awesome update that's for sure! Everything has such an insane level of detail.

But, I wonder if they will continue to work on weathering and maybe the addition of a pilot body?

Thanks ED!

are these cockpit textures final? Because i would love to see this cockpit in a more worn look like in the hornet or f16.

True enough. Love that ED is giving the A-10 some love but also would like to see a more worn effect

It has been ages since I last flew the Warthog, therefor I can't really point out any specific differences. But somehow the general feeling I just got when I stepped into the pit, was better than last time I tried in VR (probably about a year ago). Just like some others here, as a personal preference, I'd like to see slightly more wear.

Did ED remove the VR pilot body option by the way? Or has it never been there? (can't remember)

Edit:

By the time I typed this, a few other posts had been made (hot topic :P). So I guess the answer on my pilot body question is "no" hehe

Ummm.....all of the cockpit lights are dim as crap now. The old pit looked WAY better.

Are the lights staying this way?, cause its not an improvement.

Can you explain in greater detail or post a screenshot, all looks good here.
