Recommended Posts

I created this button box to accommodate most if not all of the modern jets UFCs.

If anybody is interested, I left the instructions on how to build it here: https://www.instructables.com/id/Universal-UFC-for-Plane-Simulators-for-Less-Than-1/

That's great. I've got a question about the rotary encoders, the ones I'm using are kinda quirky. They have a push button and the shaft is 6mm... Sometimes they register the opposite direction click, and seem to be either too sensitive or not sensitive enough. I'm using a derek speare board. Any thoughts?

I also used the Leo Bondar boards when I built my button boxes, great boards easy to use.

The encoders I used are just plain KY-40 encoders I found on Amazon (like here). They're probably not as good as the ones from LeoBodnar, but so far they work fine. I didn't notice any reverse direction issue.

I changed the loop dekay in my code (using Teensy/Arduino) and solved most of the problems, other than the encoders I use have detents, and it sees four clicks per detent. That's annoying. I'll fix it some day.
