After hearing about updates on clouds, and the recent spitfire sound improvements

i just want to express gratitude that improvements for the game engine that have been implemented and or are in the works.

Are new weather and clouds in the update released today?

I don't wait many things as much as the core updates like weather and ground units, as well mission editor changes and terrain engine changes like ground clutter etc etc.

Maybe only thing that goes so high is Mi-24P, MiG-23MLA and combined arms.

+9999999 on the clouds, it's exactly what DCS needs. Fantastic that ED are doing layers and types.

Shall we wait for things like the clouds to be implemented before we give due praise? Work is nice and all but end output is required.

Nope no new clouds as of yet.

No new clouds. ED showed a 'this is what it will look like' WIP pic and someone decided it was praiseworthy. I'll give praise when the new clouds are in game, synced in Multiplayer and have a detrimental impact on IR sensors like missiles and the Flanker IRST.

Ahh okay I see now. Big thanks to ED for striving to improve the core game but I agree with your sentiment.

Agree with Arctander on this. Wish people would wait before stuff is really implemented in game and working at least semi-bugfree before heaping praise on ED.It’s unfortunately the same over and over again.ED announce something and tease some pics and people start raving somewhat prematurely.

Each to their own, but I am sceptical.So much has been announced and teased in the past, much of which hasn‘t arrived yet.

So I ll wait for concrete tangible improvements in the core game before pushing out compliments.

Besides, he did mention Spitfire sound, and that is in the game now.

And I, too, want to thank ED for base improvements.

I have poor system to play with higher options but, I've realized an improvement on the Role Select page when entered a server. I had huge and very very long stutters and pauses (from 20 seconds to 1 minutes or more) to select any aircraft. Now, my mouse wheel can scroll the AC list easily. That's really a progress for me.

Except, forget about multiplayer, realtime gaming network code is most difficult.

Yep +1 Greatest Combat Flight simulator ever played by me...if suspension of disbelief is the measure used then DCS has slaughtered the competition!

Ed have already said that the clouds will be synced in MP. It’s not hard. Something something other sim something something....
