The Dynamic DCS engine is built on externally written software from the ground up to offload all the process's from the DCS server to allow for unique game play using nodeJS and mongoDB for asynchronous processing and decision making.

The server then, syncs to it through lua sockets and it compiles commands to send back, essentially freeing up massive amounts of overhead for the server to do what it needs to do.

The full system is compiled of DCS <-> dynamicdcs.com <-> discord <-> DCS, it requires all of these parts to accomplish its goal.

Server has been in development for over 2 years and DDCS engine for a full year. The main goal of this server is to create a place to fly where it feels like a real war, things happen that you cant predict like a real war.

This community is really made up of a group effort wanting something more with multiplayer!

 

Server Current Implemented Features:

  • Currently, the only server that spawns back every single unit spawned or generated ground unit where it left off between restarts or crashes
  • about 1000 ground units that spawn completely randomly around a base and are allocated of randomly selected units(when the map is initially populated)
  • every Base and FARP can be fully captured
  • Bases are FARPS are replenished by AI cargo aircraft (the ONLY auto spawned flying AI on the server)
  • Each base has a command center to sling load crates to build the base up, defend it, or build that tank convoy you always wanted
    1. 7 spawned groups per person
    2. the spawned units stay between crashes and restarts
    3. you may also Combat Arms pilot these machines.
    4. Currently, The only server that lets you build massive convoys with your friends and ASSAULT the base(with minimum to zero lag)!

    [*]Resource point system, spawn in Tankers or AWACS type aircraft, in the future you will also be able to spawn in bombers, airdrops, escorts

    1. Resource points are generated when you hit an aircraft, once you gain a lot of resource points you MUST land back at a friendly base for them to be record into the database.
    2. sling loaded SAMS & Tanks will build you resource points while you're offline, being a sling loader is very important to your cause

    [*]A Human GCI is heavily encouraged, come in and command your fleets, while you tactically control the ground war (if the person who owns the units is online, please ask permission)

    [*]Internal Crates, reload crate(place and reload any unit), base repair crate (repair any bases replenishes all FARP vehicles and respawns the command center to allow slingloading)

    [*]Plane Lives Make Things Matter!, CAP planes get 2 lives and +1 life every hour(max 2) (side that has less players gets them back faster), CAS lives start with 4 + 1 every hour(max 4), every other plane/heli has unlimited lives so you will see F5's and MiG-21's around

    [*]Server hardware top notch, i7-7700k, 32gb DDR4, M.2 NVME drive, on gigabit fiber hosted network completely dedicated to this server. All donated money gets put toward newer hardware for newer servers.

Future things in development right now

  • dynamicdcs.com fully built out where you can pull up the webmap, plane a strike mission and send the way points into the planes in the game REAL-TIME, the website can fire any set of commands into the real game.
    On player successful eject, rescue missions can be set in motion to rescue these pilots, you will get 1/2 their resource points and the pilot with get the other 1/2, if you're the enemy you can also hunt for POW's for full points
  • ENTIRE DDCS engine was built to expand horizontally onto many many servers with minimal effort, the engine already automatically populates entire maps, just some rule changes and a hardcore rotation server, 1960's or evern a wwII server can eb put up and still use all of these features that I previously have built.
  • I usually run things by the full community of people to get ideas, or just to see what they think, the server is constantly evolving and getting better!
  • Full Naval combat (including shipyards to build them)
  • Factorys to strike (sling load special weapons to your base to use, this is pending API update from ED to modify base equipment allocations)
  • dynamic story lines with audio, turn the battlefield into a full on campaign/movie feel and back to multiplayer(will be experimental)

Dynamic DCS Simple Rules:

  1. Conduct on DDCS Discord and also communities outside of DDCS is required to play on the DDCS network. Defamation/hijacking of other peoples servers & threads are grounds for dismissal.
  2. Ramming on purpose is grounds for dismissal.
  3. Anything that can relatively make someone mad needs to be in the heated-discussions thread, if you break the discords conduct rules I will ban you ahead of time to protect the channel
  4. No Whining, Complaining, Crying, I don't want to here it (I am not your babysitter)
  5. No Cheating, if you see something let me know, don't tell others, I'll figure a way to handle it gracefully, its RARE for me to ban
  6. Behave and Be Respectful, this community is made up of many different types/walks of people.
  7. Be constructive, give me suggestions on how to make something better, I don't want to hear why you don't like it without the solution that goes with it
  8. Try to balance the teams when you can, there is only so much I can do server wise with this.
  9. Understand that this is system is constantly getting worked on and being balanced, I think long and hard on all decisions
  10. Goal is to make this community network of servers a neutral place to play for all squadrons that is fun and engaging(has a living feel to it)
  11. If you want to control a combat arms vehicle, ask for permission first from the owner! It is up to him to allow you or not, if he says no, sling load your own or ask politely if someone will, usually someone will step up. People work VERY hard building convoys,. hours at a time!

Great server and great community. If you've ever wanted to sling-load your own tanks and use them to fight other player-controlled tanks, this is the server to play on. This isn't just a static set of defences / automatically spawned attacking convoys - players build something like half of all the units on the map and decide where they go / drive them around themselves. Awesome dynamic gameplay!

I've followed Drex' work for over a year now and really like what he's making. It is by far my favorite server. I'm really looking forward to his 60s/70s server as I'd love to see this gameplay play out with F-5s, Mig-21s, Hueys and Mi-8s in the front-line combat roles.

 

My favorite feature is how helicopters act like a sort of "engineer class" and can help defense or offense by slingloading replacement units in or assisting with a ground offensive. It can be a really satisfying high or low intensity non-direct-combat activity, depending on how close you feel like operating to the front line.

 

Clever deployment of IR sams is an evil good time, as is sling loading an SA-8 or SA-15 into a nice position and then switching slots to drive it directly. Muahaha!:devil_2:

great server but player usually needs at least 16gb of ram to join. Tip: don't get discouraged if you are outnumbered, players usually trickle in and there is always something for 1 person to do.

Best server online right now. Very little lag compared to others with this much going on. True rock/paper/scissor strategic gameplay encourages team play to win. Love building tank convoys and using them combined with air superiority to capture objectives. So many varying ways to play this server!

This is my go-to server now. If you ever wanted a bigger story arc than "respawn, fly, die" this is the place to be. Full map reset does not happen for a week+ with the front line moving across the map as airfields are captured by tanks, which you control, after sling-loading in choppers.

 

Ever wanted to make your own SAM setup in an online server? Ever wanted to command an armoured convoy in a combined ops? Ever wanted to do GCI? Ever wanted to scramble to stop an A10-C attack on an airbase?

 

This is the place you can do that.

This sounds like dr chow neck belt commercial but I cant remember last time fighting against full scale SAM defences with S300/Patriot on top anywhere dcs online. This is utilization of all modern dcs assets. Few can do it, drax did it, and most imortant, it is stable as there is very few lag occurances. What is missing by my opponion is ability to anable/disable slots by user actions so players can enable slots closer to battle line e.g. by escorted transport plane.

unfortunately the scripting API made available by ED limits a lot of what we would like to enable. Hopefully one day they will divert attention from making new aircraft available to fixing fundamental engineering concerns. Naturally, this needs to be balanced against cash flow concerns, so we can but dream and deal with what we have.

you dont have to download anything, you can access discord from a webpage. Having a single place for comms really keeps the community together. I love SRS, but it does tend to divide things up, as many can't get it working, for whatever reason.

I have been flying on DDCS for roughly two years (it used another name in the past). This server is NOT a script based server! I always find it challenging and a blast when working with competent players. DDCS is the most lifelike server in that players can spawn ground units in locations and they can remain there, defending the area, for several restarts or until destroyed. I haven't seen another server in DCS accomplish this! Truly amazing! DDCS is a unique server and, hands down, blows ALL other competition away! Do not be dissuaded from joining the server as it, at times, may take a couple of attempts. From my understanding, this delay is an ED issue in the initial load times. The game-play at DDCS is like none other for CAP, CAS, GCI, Supply, & CA!

 

In the past, squadrons have used DDCS to host their weekly raids as long as the raids are compatible with the live-time mission. This is a wonderful opportunity for Mission Planners to jump into a real world type scenario, take the data available, allocate their resources appropriately, and attempt to achieve their goal for the mission while facing live hostile opposition. A true Sim!

Fantastic server Drex, this is probably the most impressive creation since Blue flag was introduced, pretty much covers everything possible with combat in DCS in one package.

Add to this not only mission creation but server optimisations as well.

 

Looking forward to see how far you take this in the future. IMO ED need to take notice and sign you up.

Plus we need to get more guys flying on this server.

I tried this server last night. I didn't play too long because I got a warning that I was about to be kicked for not being in the Discord group. A bit heavy-handed for my taste, but it's not my server so i respect the admin's rules - maybe I'll check it out in the future some time. It would have been nice if external camera views for Allied units was enable like on Mirknir's old server, or the TTI servers - it's nice way to pass the time when making a trip.

Its aiming to be a no holds barred kinda server hence the lack of external views. You can use them to find sneaky enemies so that's that.

 

The discord thing isn't too bad, you must be on discord (even just in the browser) and your DCS username must match (case too) your discord name for the DDCS discord server (you can have different usernames in different discord servers). It also makes teamwork a lot easier because everyone per side has to be in the voice channel (you can mute it if you want).

I like this server but I get my ass kicked so fast. It's like there are people that spend every waking moment of their lives on these servers. I'm shot down for the 3rd time and I'm forced to find something else to do, it happens so quickly I stopped playing on this server. I have to get much better before I come back.

Discord is how I keep in touch with my community and it works well(I would have no other way without it), People need to talk and have GCI on my server else your at a severe disadvantage, The comms/social community helps people communicate and has greatly improved the quality of gameplay on the server. I also pipe in audio cues through this system keeping the audio off of the mission file making the mission load faster, its one of the 3 main parts of the complete system, comms, dynamicdcs.com(will webapp which will let you plan missions and send them to your plane in realtime, its just a proof of concept atm) and also the external engine, and DCS itself

 

I had to turn off external views because people were cheating with it, they would zoom ALL the way to the next base and start calling out what units are there, GCI was doing his job riding the wings of other peoples planes, it just wasn't fun when I had that stuff turned on (need severe limitations in place from ED for me to turn this back on)
