huchanronaa
The following video three years ago shows that the cockpit brightness of the sa-342 was indeed brighter than now, Edited June 18, 2019 by huchanronaa
ams999
The problem isn't the black of the console/interior itself. That is fine as it's supposed to be anti-glare as the Gazelle's cockpit is mostly made of translucent material so it's a pretty bright cockpit in real life. The problem is that at the moment, almost everything casts a complete shadow, even the glass, which makes the cockpit very dark. Two shots as a comparison, first with Shadows on High, second with Shadows off (which then is fine). ams999
OK, this might actually be graphics card related. Thank you DrummerNL for the tests! Could people with AMD cards test shadow settings (low, medium, or high) and see if the Gazelle's cockpit glass casts a complete shadow, making the cockpit dark? This is to check if it is really AMD related. Nvidia cards don't seem to be affected. Thanks! Examples: 1. Shadows off, cockpit lighting is OK 2. Shadows high, same position, cockpit is dark 3. Even if you turn, no sun light gets into the cockpit through the windows (only if you hit the open sliding window at the right angle) Edited June 19, 2019 by ams999 "[...] because, basically, in this day and age, if you get to the merge and no one's died - it's not good for anybody." - Keith 'Okie' Nance "Nun siegt mal schön!" - Theodor Heuss, September 1958 "Nobody has any intention of building a wall." - Walter Ulbricht, June 1961 "Russia has no plans to invade either Ukraine or any other country." - Vladimir Chizhov, Russia's ambassador to the EU, January 2022

ams999
Shadows Flat Only seem to work OK, so please test with low, medium, or high! Examples: 1. Shadows flat 2. Shadows high "[...] because, basically, in this day and age, if you get to the merge and no one's died - it's not good for anybody." - Keith 'Okie' Nance "Nun siegt mal schön!" - Theodor Heuss, September 1958 "Nobody has any intention of building a wall." - Walter Ulbricht, June 1961 "Russia has no plans to invade either Ukraine or any other country." - Vladimir Chizhov, Russia's ambassador to the EU, January 2022
ams999
Please don't mind if you find anything mod related in the pictures, we went through pretty much everything including stock settings and Gazelle reinstall. These pics were made before that. I also tried disabling all settings in the AMD drivers I could find, unfortunately without making a difference. If you see the same effect as in the pictures and find a setting to solve this please post. Thanks! Eldur
It's way too dark... literally pitch black.
RealDCSpilot
The problem has been tracked down, the canopy glass is treated like a solid object and because of that working as a full shadow caster. They say the fix is coming in the next module update, but no one knows when. i9 13900K @5.5GHz, Z790 Gigabyte Aorus Master, RTX4090 Waterforce, 64 GB DDR5 @5600, Pico 4, HOTAS & Rudder: all Virpil with Rhino FFB base made by VPforce, DCS: all modules
