The point is that sooner or later we are going to have bombs and drop tanks for the Spitfire.

Meanwhile i´m enjoying the Mk IX as it is now.

As far as loadouts including under wing mounted cannons, that would be downright unacceptable if it were approved and created for the 109. ED already made a mistake making the 109K4 and 190D9. Let's not make it worse.
Should 109 have a bombs, gunpod etc? If so.... Then it should be possible. The reality isn't about balance, it is about unbalance and then the means to get even or better.

What is unfair is if there is like 5 year difference between aircrafts or couple versions such way that the other is older than at the moment capable aircraft.

BUT that holds only in competition multiplayer games, like placing a Tunguska in a WW2 era. Not in the experience to fly a specific aircrafts as it was suppose to be flying, what can be a challenge if there ain't a similar generation enemies available.

Those are wild tangents, someone only asked if the Spitfire gets tanks. Or anything, as it has nothing right now to hang underneath.

A camera would be great btw, dont know 100% if it is considered or how it translates gameplay but I would love to fly pure reconnaissance missions.

Here we go again...

A simple request for a feature that was available for the Spitfire instantly turns into a request for a feature that is controversial on the 109.

Try and stick to the point here and accept the post for what it is. ED have stated that the addition of bombs and drop tanks for the Spitfire are in the pipeline. Isn't that all that needs to be said?

We definitely need the drop tanks because it severely limits the operational flexibility of the Spitfire over Normandy in at least the early days of the invasion. I'd say these at least ought to be a priority, and essential if we are to get the best out of the Normandy map given that there are airbases in the UK.

As for the 109 - it has all been said before, so do a search, and at least post in the appropriate thread instead of hijacking this one.

It’s also not called Digital Medivac Those Troops Back To Base Simulator but you can do that and many other things without blasting away at everything.

How do you want to do combat without reconaissance? And do you think the invasion would have happened without photographic reconnaissance squadrons?
