Hovis
Hi there, This has been an issue for a while but a restart always fixes it, no longer. I cannot stay in game longer than 30 seconds without crashing. Any help fixing this would be greatly appreciated. Drivers are up to date, tried downclocking slightly, no effect Crash folder included Also - BIGNEWY, kudos for your time dealing with our screaming :) Specs Windows 10 64 bit CPU - Ryzen 3 1200 RAM - 16gb ddr4 GPU - gtx 1050 ti PSU - cx550m -Edit- added another crash file, this one's looks more like the usual log filedcs.log-20180601-105604.zipdcs.log-20180601-112005.zip Edited June 1, 2018 by Hovis
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted June 1, 2018 ED Team Share Posted June 1, 2018 Thanks, always happy to help, not always successfully but I try :) Nothing very obvious in the log, just the display driver crash. It maybe worth checking your pagefile, is it set high enough if manual, if auto does it have enough room on the drive? May also be worth a fresh display driver install using DDU failing the my crash advice below will be worth a shot, if you still get crashes attach the fresh logs the devs will see them also. thanks 2018-06-01 11:20:05.582 ERROR DX11BACKEND: failed to create vertex buffer. Hovis
Urm, new to pagefile. I'm seeing in advanced system properties it's automatically set for 9216MB in my C drive (SSD). My DCS install is on my D drive (HDD) and has more space on it. Would you reccomend switching it to my D drive? Should I increase it or leave as is? Google is telling me it's essentially using free storage space as backup RAM
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted June 1, 2018 ED Team Share Posted June 1, 2018 Yes the page file or sometimes called the swap file is used to swap data for quick use. It is fine on your C drive, as long as you have enough room on the drive for it to expand if needed. Some users have said setting it manually to about 16gb has helped, I have mine set to system managed personally, and have plenty of space free on the drive. Forum rules - DCS Crashing?
