"Issues" statistics are mostly at the same level, but it's almost always a matter of "being used to the device".
The custom driver is nothing dangerous. If you know the matter it is a WinUSB derivative and the binaries are provided and signed by MS.
Anyway, I don't want to push any choice ... it's just to avoid misconceptions.

My suggestion is to try with a cardboard mock-up and see by yourself.

Function buttons are extremely useful and most of the time better than gestures. Moreover gestures don't cover the full set of functions performed by buttons. An alternative is combining the One and another controller.

That's exactly what I've done with the mockup...I've gone for the S after a bit of deliberation.

I have the Intuos S and enjoy it. Perfect size for my kneeboard that I have. I have it secured to the kneeboard via velcro, so I can remove it if the need arises. Regarding the smaller work area, I don't find my self searching for the sweet spot too often. I am aware of the issue, and have gotten accustomed to it.

Thanks. I'm looking into several options for strapping it to my thigh...several routes available so I'm sure all will be well.

As Rider pointed out, a core feature. You can have a mission data card, CAS Card, a Notepad, Quick Reference Booklet, DCS Flight Manual at the same time. Those are separate into register tabs you can toggle between.

Best thing: You can even put in Bookmarks, so you can have your emergencies procederes open with one pen click.

Anybody found a neat trick to inhibit the WACOM Pen to roll away off the surface? Did you install a pen holder or something? This thing is perfectly round... A clip at the end would have been a great addition.

It is not possible to be use the mouse because the kneeboard is only overlayed on the sim (which is managing the mouse).

The two possibilities are:

- use of a pen tablet

- configure buttons and hats on a joystick/hotas/keyboard

My hotas keymapping are almost full now, will have to substitute some non essential keymap for this.

One more thing please, can I make adjustments to bring the focus display close to my face so I do have to look down to far to read clearly the pdf I have got attached. I can see on one of your demo videos, the in focus display was high up.

No no, certainly not...you didn't come across that way all. It's that only after you clarified, I had the hindsight thought that, yes, some might read my comment and possibly surmise that the other tablets/custom driver were a 'lesser' option...which isn't the case. And nobody want's to be the guy that doles out bad info.

I probably should have phrased it differently - It's always a danger when only communicating via written word. My bad. No harm no foul, I hope. :thumbup:

Btw, got the Intuos S up and running - After a bit of config it's working flawlessly.

I have installed the VRK mod following the instructions, on joining the game I am unable to see the kneeboard, is there a special keybinding or action i need to do to have the VRK appear.

I am running an Oculus Rift S with a 3800x and a Asus 2070 Strix and a Wacom Bamboo graphics tablet

Try playing with VR position in configuration, Y value will bring the kneeboard up and down.

No keybinding needed. You should see the kneeboard from the main menu already.

Do you should start DCS with the custom link created from VRK?

When you buld the link you should point the dcs.exe which is in the install path. The procedure will not let you to continue without it so I guess you did it right.

It happened to another user few days ago: it's probably your AV that blocked/deleted the ovrlauncher.exe which is part of VRK. Check you AV logs/quarantine, restore it and create an exception.

The next version of VRK will include a specific check for ovrlauncher.exe and notify the user to check the AV if it has been deleted.

When looking at the < > tabs on the kneeboard in vr and using my pen to cycle pages, the < > skips pages. If I use a keyboard shortcut to cycle pages it is correct. I would prefer not to need a keyboard shortcut for next page previous page if the <> is an option. Is there somewhere in the settings that I may have overlooked that would cause the <> to cycle multiple pages instead of the “next page”?

I guess it is due to pen tip reporting multiple on/off and generating skips.

This has been fixed for custom driver, I guess it's time to port the same to WinTab.

This is my VRKLog. My log covers the last two days and nine attempts, so I copied the last attempt.

I see nothing bad in your log, but do you have another log file called ovrdet.log in the directory?

If it doesn't exist it's because VRK is not even trying to start DCS which is usually caused by the two usual suspects:

- VR is disabled in the config

- vrkovrlaucher.exe is missing

Anyway to debug this I need you configuration file and the shortcut you use to start VRK. To avoid too much text in the thread I suggest you to send me via PM or email.

The configuration is stored in:

C:\Users\<your_username>\AppData\Local\VRKneeboard\VRKneeboard.exe_StrongName_<whatever>\1.2.3.5\user.config

Removed my antivirus, still having the issue with DCS not launching

Same applies to you, but please also send me your log so I can look into it.

Please be patient if I ask the same thing multiple times, I'm trying to help the most of you I can and sometime I mix things.

I promise that starting from the next version it will be easier to setup Oculus and I will add a video showing how to :music_whistling:

Hello, does anyone know if this works with the huion 1060p? As far as I can see it is the same as the 950p (which is supported), but bigger. It is not one of the XP pen devices.

Well nobody tried it yet, The 1060p is a more sophisticated unit (i.e. the recording capability). It's a 50/50 chance.

If your are looking it for an exclusive VRK use I would not recommend because it's huge (and the risk above).

If you want to share it for drawing remember that the custom driver used for VRK will block normal operation of the tablet on VRK machine.

If you want to go for it, please let us know if it works, and, if it doesn't we may try to add compatibility.

I went for the H950p, after seeing it in the shop it is big enough (maybe even too big). It is a shame that it cannot be used with other programs when the VKB driver is installed, but I can use my laptop for drawing so it isn't a big problem.

I notice that sometimes when I start VKB up, the tablet doesn't work at all and I must restart VKB or even in one case my whole PC to get it working - is that a known issue?

Other than that, this is a great peice of software, I'm sure I'm going to get a lot of use out of it - thank you very much!

There's a strange behaviour of the Huion device I observed. If the pen is in proximity of the drawing area when you connect the USB it will stop reporting data.

This combined to the fact that current VRK public version does not support reconnection may be your case.

Upcoming VRK version will support device reconnection so you will need to restart VRK anymore, still, I-m investigating the behavior of the device.

You can switch between VRK drivers and Huion drivers from device manager: Select device, properties, Update driver, Browse my computer, Let me pick .

It will require a reboot and you need to remember to rollback before flying.

TBH I would not suggest to switch unless you are quite comfortable with devices and device manager.
