It miss...life...!
You need a proper front...with forces who fight and the line of the front who dinamically change...
Then You need people to fly and interact with these environment.
Only then You could expand..add...and so on...
At the moment the impressionis to fly in a desert land where You pick some pocket of fight.

You're looking at 6 to 10 years for that.
Development time for DCS warbird flyable aircraft is 12 to 24 months.
AI aircraft require around 12 months too (just look at the B17. I has been released for more than a year and still doesn't even have a damage model)

DCS WW2 has low levels of player-base now because what we have is not complete. Releasing another half-baked set of aircraft in 6 year's time is going to do nothing to help.

If you want "pacific" I suggest being imaginative with the Falklands map when it comes out. Pretend it is Guam or Palau or some of the Bismark islands..

A WW2 Iwo Jima map is already in development, together with the F4U Corsair.

DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

I know it's large, but it seems like it would fit a very large amount of great, high quality late war scenarios in it...

Thoughts?
This is the AO for the most part for the other WWII flight sim that's in early access.

For DCS to do something nobody has at this point, I'd say the Pacific theater.

I agree, it's the same thing that I think too ..

But the problem in DCS WWII is still the same, the lack of airplanes that in fact makes a new map useless, even if they do one dedicated to the South Pacific with what flights? with spitifire and 109?...

considering the timespan it takes the developers here to create 1 single aircraft, imo, its best to stay at the european front. maybe crawl backwards in time with the aircraft models, give us earlier 109 and 190models, while also creating maps closer to the end of the war(more central europe, and alps would be a blast)...that way we might get a proper ww2 flight sim one far far far away day...going pacific? if u ask me, before we might have 1pacific aircraft here in dcs, the other sim that is not to mention here will have bodenplatte and 1 or 2 pacific theaters developed...better iron out whats already begun here.

Yes you are not wrong, indeed your reasoning is certainly acceptable, it would be enough that the ED ended the Normandy theater with the inclusion of other fundamental airplanes such as the series 190 A/F-8, 109 G10/14, P-38, Tempest, etc. ... to finally have a true WWII simulation environment in DCS.

But I would not compare with the well-known alternative WWII simulation environment, this has another target of sim pilots and follows a different development philosophy, and personally I much prefer the philosophy of DCS...

I vote to flesh that out and complete the entire map area first before any thought of another map.
As the Normandy Map is 3rd Party, it doesn't stop anyone else from proceeding with a new WWII map.

I hope we will see some new AI aircraft coming up. I will see if maybe in a coming newsletter we can get some new shots.

Pacific maps are a total waste until we have at least 2 relevant opposing aircraft (at least!) and relevant AI assets. The OP map is the map that should have been built from the start for DCS, at least the eastern half of it. That way, the AI pack carry over just fine, the existing planeset get their proper setting, and we are a step closer to realizing the potential of DCS WW2. The Tip of England would of course be a huge boost (once again) since it allows for escort missions of B-17's as well as plausible scenarios for 41-43 as well. I just hope it will be the crew that made the PG map that would make it, and that they would continue the trend of blending sat images for high alt, and artist textures for low alt. It would be a godsend, but I am not hyping myself as I did for Normandy.
