DCS-SimpleRadio Standalone

Recommended Posts

This works for humans on the same frequencies. There is an option to prevent the other coalition from eavesdropping, though, as well as using the radio encryption in planes that support it.

EDIT so you need one SRS server handling frequencies from DCS and use the radios as you would IRL.

Cool thanks :)

How do we force SRS to use a specific output device (speaker)? I have my monitor speakers as default output device (coming from display port via my GPU), and headphones plugged into the motherboard. Apps like Teamspeak allow me to select the output device, but I can't figure it out in SRS.

Thanks in advance,

On the "General" page, don't you have the "Speakers & Optional Mic Output" drop-downs? I'd say their placement is rather obvious... :smartass:

Or does that not work for you?

Yeah I tried changing that dropdown, but it made no difference, always sent the audio to my monitor speakers. Seems too obvious I would think.
Check in Windows that you have set your headset as "Default Communication Device".

I know I can do that as a workaround, if SRS will only work with the default output device. I was hoping to keep the speakers as default though and set SRS to use the headphones.

It's not a deal breaker, I was just hoping I was missing something that is configurable in the program settings or config file.

Are you sure you're not using pass through?

There are two output options - just use the one on the left. There is no way for it not to work as Changing that drop-down literally changes the output device unless you are using some other program ontop to route it?

Can you Test with preview audio all the different output devices?

having troubles in linking the SRS to DCS....

the srs is working i can join it but on dcs server no messages show up

`local SRSAuto = {}

SRSAuto.SERVER_SRS_HOST = "put the same adress of dcs server and same port?"

Hi !

I had a few issues with SRS to run, and just found the issue : NLog (though it might be usefull to share ;)).

TL;DR : You might have issues if you have outdated .NET development tools installed.

Either update NLog (found the DLL on https://www.nuget.org/packages/NLog/4.6.4) or delete it (check C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\assembly\GAC_MSIL\NLog\)

So, for the "troubleshooting list"...

1 - .NET is already installed, won't continue install.

2 - It's a "regular" windows 8.1 home edition.

3 - Older scripts deleted.

4 - Properly extracted (installed to desktop for testing purposes)

5 - Client app ran as administrator aaaaand...

App crash.

This is what windows event viewer gives me :

Error 1 : Application error

Please note I'm completely NOOB when it comes to debug process. I've just followed the first tutorial I found, but it seems NLog triggered A LOT of errors.

Uninstalling then re-installing .NET frameworks never solved the issue, nor SFC/DISM.

So I searched for NLOG.DLL on my system.

Found 1 DLL in

C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\assembly\GAC_MSIL\NLog\v4.0_4.0.0.0__5120e14c03d0593c

Version 4.2.3 from 26/05/2016. Pretty outdated.

Newer ones can be found on https://www.nuget.org/packages/NLog/4.6.4 , hit "Download package", you'll get a .nupkg file.

It's a kind of zip file that you can open with 7-ZIP.

Replace the outdated one with nlog.4.6.4.nupkg\lib\net40-client\NLog.dll .

Should work properly now. ;)

I posted this in the Vaicom forum and they suggested I post here.

When I’m in the F-18 I can hear radio traffic from 133.333 (shell). I can transmit on Comm 1 (253.000) and other users can here me. The problem is when they transmit back Im not hearing anything, just silence.

Any ideas?

Hi Guys,

i have some trouble with SRS. I cant get any Audio out of it.

Nothing happens by klicking the "audio preview" button. If i connect to a server i hear nobody and probably nobody hears me.

Beside of the Audio it works fine. Connection to a server works. Overlay in DCS works fine (in VR too). Switching Radios and Channels works.

So far i have done the troubleshoot-post.

clientlog looks fine for me:

clientlog.txt

I think it has to do with my Audiointerface. Its a Zoom UAC-2 and a AKG HSC 271 Headset connected to it. Not that regular Soundcard but Teamspeak and Discord runs fine with this combination. But i had trouble with a game once, where i had to change the sampling rate from 48000Hz down to 44100Hz to get sound out of it.... ckecked it with SRS. Won't work either.

Now i ran out of ideas and any help is appreciated.

Move along.....nothing to see here

Whoop Whoop!

Got it fixed. With help from a friend of mine. He just put his mike in to input 1 and it works :) So i changed my input from 2 to 1 and...ta da. It works for me too.

So:

Dear Audiointerface-User: If your Interface have more than one input. Make sure you use input 1 to use SRS

Hey, a question to the developers :)

Is there any plan to make Controls Configs that can be saved and loaded?

With all the different modules out there now that require reconfiguration of SRS between flights, I would love to see some function where I can load different control configurations in before flight ^^

For the F/A-18C.... is the Guard Channel working?

I can setup COM 1, say 255.00 MHz AM and could monitor the Guard freq. 243.00 MHz AM on COM 1 with activating GRCV - will this work in SRS?

Had a really weird issue yesterday, need to test more but just going to post in case I'm missing something obvious.

Flying MiG-29S on DDCS Modern, trying to use fixed channels, had my files set up as per instructions (and it worked fine before).

Overlay Radio 1 says R-862 on 121.5 (the first frequency in my file), so far so good. But, pressing the "channel up" binding for SRS doesn't change the frequency, instead overlay now says "121.5 +CN1", then +CN2 etc. What's going on here? Can't seem to cycle through my preset frequencies.

Even more weird, overlay is telling me I have an ANARC-164 UHF1 as Radio 2. The MiG-29 doesn't have one of these! Why is it picking up my preset frequency file for the F-15C radio?

Like I said I'll try to hop onto a server again today just to test, but in the meantime any help with this weirdness would be appreciated.

EDIT: just tried again on DDCS and BuddySpike and now none of my SRS hotkeys are working at all :(

Presets VHF-FM A10C Issues

I am getting inconsistencies with the Presets for VHF-FM in the A10C. I can cycle through several presets starting at 1 and when I get back to preset 1 its different then when I started. So are all the next set of preset frequencies when I cycle through for a second time. ie) Preset 2 will be different than the first preset 2 and so on.

Any idea why this is occurring and what can be done about it.

Currently not possible to read it from the aircraft unfortunately

Cribob: Your reply quoted above was to a question about whether the Guard channel works in the DCS Hornet. I'm a bit unclear about the reply. What exactly can't be read? If I manually tune 243.000 on radio 2 and so do others should we be able to communicate? I tried this last night (after not using SRS for some time) and it appeared that I was transmitting. Also in the SRS overlay window it showed me transmitting. Also the 243.000 in that window would go green when I transmitted and occasionally white (when others were transmitting?) but I couldn't hear others at all.
