Static Templates on User Files Section

Hello,

Please, can you update the File Types filter on "User Files", to include "Static Template" ?

Since ED added this capability to the Mission Editor last year, I've been building a fairly big Static Templates Library and would like to share the better ones with the Community, but don't want them to be buried on the "other" category :)

Thanks

Eduardo

Edit: Please, while you are at it, can you also add the I-16 to the "Units" list? Thank you

Although I cannot offer you anything to resolve this request, I did feel you needed some form of acknowledgment by way of a reply at the least.

Fingers crossed for you.

:) thanks, tough as this is the Customer Support section of the Forum I have faith that the Site Admin will eventually see this thread and hopefully act on it.

I've had favorable responses from similar requests I made on the past, like adding the MiG-19 and the F-14 to the Unit types filter :)

Cheers!

Come on ED .. this cant be that hard to do, just adding an item on a filter list :( .. I've been updating a set of almost 40 Static Templates for adding scenery to Caucasus Airbases, and would like to be able to upload them here on a proper category ... please :(

I must admit that this situation is very sad .. I've edited a lot of my Static Templates to make them compatible with DCS 2.5.5 ... but I refuse to be forced to clasify them as "others", so I'm witholding them for my own use for the time being, instead of uploading and sharing them on the User Files section :(

Indeed a sad end. Is it the end?

Yeah .. I cant understand how the same company that is able to produce such a complex simulator, can't bother to add a simple item to a weblist :(

Rudel, maybe in the meantime can you upload them somewhere and put the link in your forum signature ?

Thanks a lot for the kind offer, but I will wait a bit more for the Webmaster's reply to this request .. today he added the I-16 to the Unit's list ... who knows?, maybe I will get lucky soon :)

Well, a month has passed by and I guess by now I must assume that this request will not be fulfilled, pity, wonder what might be the reason for the admins not bothering to add this file type :( thanks anyway.

Well, almost a year has passed by and these excellent Templates for Supercarrier made me remember this request:

https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3309905/

Please, @BigNewy, can you remind the Site Admin about this request .. I believe it would encourage the sharing of Templates amongst Mission Designers which can only be a good thing.

While they are at it, may I suggest that they Order these lists A-Z .. the Units list is quite long and has no order, making it difficult to use.

Thanks a lot.

Eduardo

I wish you all the best with this Rudel. If they ever do get around to it maybe they could also add a feature for fantasy skins. Its a PITA scrolling through lime green and purple F18s and Irish Air force F14s for something useful.

MSI Tomahawk X570 Mobo, Ryzen 5600X undervolted on Artic Freezer E34 Cooler, RTX3080 FE, 32GB (2x16GB Dual Ranked) GSkil 3600 CL16 Trident Neo RAM, 2X 4th Gen M2 SSDs, Corsair RM850x PSU, Lancool 215 Case.

Gear: MFG Crosswinds, Warthog Throttle, Virpil T50CM gen 1 stick, TIR5, Cougar MFD (OOA), D-link H7/B powered USB 2.0 Hub all strapped to a butchered Wheel stand pro, Cushion to bang head on, wall to scream at.

Seems to be still a good idea in 2020 :)

Thank you for your support, let's hope that ED's Webmaster reconsiders this and adds the suggested File Type.

I refuse to upload the Templates that I've edited to the "other" category, as they would quickly get lost and gather little visibility ... I like for my files to be used, no point on sharing them otherwise.

These are some of the Templates that I've gathered over time, I will share them in "packs" once the Webmaster accepts this suggestion:
