Help with the skin description.lua please

Hi guys; i'm clueless about the description.lua nowaydays after not flying the 21 for a long time...i'm catching up again with one of my favourites modules along with the MiG-15 and F-14, but when i tried to customize a personal skin, i have no idea how the parameters are set and what they are.

For example, i'd like to take the default bare metal skin, and then use the red nose tac numbers from another skin, i'm sure i can do that via description.lua, but where? What lines?

I'd like the following combo=> default bare metal, with 4 digit red VVS nose tac numbers (and then after customized via description.lua i will add a vietnamese marking with photoshop on the "Fuse_M" file, so i can turn the plane into this:

Thanks in advance.

I've attached the description.lua file that's used in the template. It has descriptions on how to use the 'TacNumbers'

The different textures for the numbers can be found in:

CoreMods\aircraft\MiG-21bis\Textures\MiG-21Bis_TacNumbers

There are many to choose from, and it's just a matter of using the texture name you want or use your own.

Thanks for your quick reply Rudel. Yes, i checked that before writing the first post, and that's why i ask for further guidance, cause i wasn´t able to quite understand the explanation placed in the lua atached

For example, if i want default bare metal with red polish tac numbers only in the nose (4 digits) what lines do i have to modified in order to get it working? I'm kind of lost.

Thank you again!.

It says right in there...

The description.lua attached and in the template is setup to have all TacNumbers disabled. It's just a matter of enabling the ones you want.

It took me a while to finally understand the way those lines work; i had to open two different description.lua and compared them..trial and error; but finally got it working.

I now have to check what i'm doing wrong when adding a marking (vietnamese in this case) to the dds file cause it changes it's transparency/color...probably i'm exporting it wrong, ot messing the alpha channel...will see.

Thanks for your help. S!

You need to modify the RoughMet texture's channels.

R = Ambient Occlusion

G = Roughness......white = rough, black = polished

B = Metallic.......white = metal, black = painted/non-metal

VVS Metal is good example
