Flying a study level Corsair off a WWII carrier on such a beautiful map in DCS, a dream come true! Fingers crossed for a handful of AI aircraft so that it advances from a sterile environment to something we can go creative with ;)

Exactly, so after the next FW 190 A8 Campaign You are working on (pls :thumbup:) , with the coming Pacific Asset and Aircrafts You will be ready to give us a Pacific Campaign :smilewink:

Let people be excited. I'm not particularily ( I don't get it either ), but everyone has their own tastes.

The Grumman F6F-5 Hellcat is an absolute must for the Pacific Theater in general, and particularly for the WW2 version of the Marianas map!

It is the most prolific carrier borne fighter of the US Navy starting from late 1943.

The US Navy returned the F4U Corsairs to carrier operations only in late 1944, following some small design changes that made it safer to land on the carrier.

Until then the Corsairs were operated from land bases, mostly by the Marines.

Cheers

Hegelian answer:

Things that are not nice.

Then you won't complain about having a map with no plane set.. Aight?

Well, if it's specifically for Marianas than correct version would be dash 3, without water injection.

The dash 5 was the most produced version of the Hellcat. Grumman switched production from dash 3 to dash 5 in April of 1944.

The Battle of the Phillipine Sea was in early June, but the campaign for the conquest of the Mariana Islands lasted through August 1944.

Or up to January 1972 if you count the last Japanese soldier to surrender :smartass:

Cheers!
