We are looking forward to having the promised VR improvements. When will they be ready? I hope before summer at the latest.

Good news: Pimax is from now Open VR. It will be easier for DCS to improve the performance in this headset.

While the VR optimization of the Caucasus map has already shown great benefits in internal tests, we are further improving and testing it. In parallel, these same improvements are being applied to our other maps.

We don't have a time frame, but when we have new news, we will certainly share it.

Thanks

I for one am quite content with the way things are. Sure there's room for improvement, there always is, but I'm like a pig in the mud with DCS. I don't see why people need to be so gorram dramatic all the time.

It's great to see that there are big improvements on the horizon. With great hardware we will soon be able to have a super smooth VR experience on high-end settings within DCS. This is the promised land that was first envisioned 3 years ago on initial Vive/Rift releases.

We don't really know anything about this anticipated VR optimisation, except that it is do to with the way in which the terrain engine works and Wags calculates that for VR users it has a 50% improvement.

That may also translate to some unspecified improvement for monitor users or it may have no effect at all. We have to wait to find out mate.

Hey everyone, a little update. The map VR optimization changes are being integrated into the next DCS World version: 2.5.5. This will be for both the Caucasus and Persian Gulf maps. Nevada map VR optimization will come after.

2.5.5 will not be this week, but not too much longer now. As a few version, it's not as simple as a regular Open Beta, there needs to be a lot more testing and checking to make sure that all 3rd party modules are working.

Thanks
