JSOW TOO launch with aim point in rear hemisphere. How?

Is this possible?

When I designate (with TPOD or AG radar) aim point, then do a 180 about face from target, I still get IN RNG release que on HUD. My altitude is 15-20 K AGL on release. Plenty of time and space for weapon to turnaround , as it is GPS/INS guided. Yet , when I release , JSOW does not attempt to turn to target. Releasing , with aim point in front hemisphere, works fine. So if JSOW cannot turn 180 before terminal dive, why am I getting IN RNG que?

JDAMS (in real world) also have this feature, but it is not supported in DCS.

IN RNG is a simple check that your range to target < maximum straight line range. The IN RNG circle is simply a circle and does not suggest that the weapon can steer anything more complicated than a straight ahead path to travel the distance from you to the target. If the target is not directly ahead then the IN RNG means very little.

What you need to know if you are inside the LAR with takes into account the relative geometry.
