For white text, edit the following:

x:\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\FA-18C\Cockpit\Scripts\materials.lua

Line 29 to:

MDG_materials[MDG_SELF_IDS.HI] = {255, 255, 255, 255}

Note: The first mod I described leaves the lettering too bright at night, as although the code for the MFD SYMBOL/CONTRAST/GAIN pushbuttons exists, they don't seem to have any effect (release version)

Great tweak. White text absolutely works for me.

Nice one. The white text in VR is much better.

Man, this tweak for the map as well as the white font made the MPCD actually usable with the map on for the first time since flying the Hornet. This was a great find!

Do we know if this will pass the integrity checks for MP?

Anyone knows how to make the fonts thicker in the MPCD?

For me Line 29 looks like this:

So where do I have to put the Nummbers for color white ?

yea its a RL feature to change font colour for the AMPCD anyways.

Anybody know where the map files for the AMPCD are located? I like dimming down the map, but have issues with using this mod in NV. The letters no longer dim when turning the brightness down which makes them too bright in NV. What I would like to do is dim the map files by 40% so I can continue to use the brightness knob to dim the entire display.

It simply uses the map view from the mission editor and the F10 map. They are located in the RasterCharts folder in the terrain's install directory.

I have a mod for this, but it is huge. There are hundreds if not thousands of images that make up the map.

If you mean pilot selectable, I’ve never heard of that feature.

They should change the font on the AMPCD to a font that has a black outline.

You can do this by editing the stroke definitions - I’ll post details when at PC
