Separate for now for the $140+ backers but this will likely change to be an update for the existing alpha. ED will let us know when they are ready.

Where is the fairness for players who did not have the opportunity to buy such a "backer pass" 3 years ago? In other games it is so, which one such an "early acess", for money offers to remain fair.

Its not about fairness, there was a kickstarter some time back, this deal was offered. The map is in a state that wouldnt normally be released to Early Access Pre-purchase anyways. The people getting access now paid 140+ to have this access among other things.

Yep. The product who the backers have is not the map in the current state. The current state is more developed.Only one more month and we fly normandy in a better state.

No, what early access pre-purchase will get will be more developed because it will have gone through more patches by then I am sure. The Backers are just getting the map in what I would consider to be a Release Candidate type version. Like what Testers get to try just before its released to public.

But I'm sure a 1080 screenshot of the map would be really nice. We'd like to start planning missions :)

What do you mean? Those guys paid a lot of money with no guarantees. The project almost failed and was then taken over by ED. Now they get what they paid for all that time ago. I think that's perfectly fair.

Since you apparently didn't back the project then, you can simply pre-purchase now. With all the screenshots and videos that have surfaced in the past couple of hours, you know very well what you'll be spending your money on, but you'll have to wait one more month, if all goes according to plan, until you can try it out first hand. I don't see anything unfair about that.

Besides, I, too, am mighty jealous of those 140+$ backers and their Alpha access. But I didn't care about the project back then and I can easily wait another month. Look at it this way: They can report bugs and we'll get a better version (but they promised to keep some bugs for me to report and be named after :D).

Agreed if they put money in give it to them early, I for one will put money into a backers page if ED ever do one.

I saw the vid from bignewy and compare this vid. You see a change of color of the water. This version the backers not have. Or?

I'm also jealous - like I'm sure many of the non-backers are. But ED should take it as a big compliment. They made a fabulous product :)

Also, from what I read, it might not quite be ready for the general public yet since there are some crashes and other bugs to be ironed out before this really goes live. I've seen (too) many people, who expect a perfect product, which is clearly marked to be in an alpha stage.

Bottom line, I will survive the next month without the map. Hoping for some nice screen shots though :)

It is 2.1 and does not have NTTR, its strictly Normandy with WW2 planes. That said, Ibelieve the intent is to merge 2.1 to 2.0 on release, so Normandy and NTTR will be on the 2.0(2.1) alpha branch. Again, this is my understanding

I did not try to add NTTR (I already have a version with NTTR in it anyway), but I do know that not all of the aircraft modules work either. You can only install ED/Belsimtek aircraft. So no Mirage, Mig-21, etc.

Its a standalone instal, completely separate from the other dcs versions (for now), but I have been buzzing around in my L39 a bit.

Did you guys notice that feature where you can change the liveries in-game now? Very cool feature
